Chapter 1215: The Riddler Returns
"Damn this weather..."
Albert emerged from a street corner, looked up at the gray sky overhead, then suddenly turned toward a certain direction. His gaze pierced through the thick fog and landed on rooftops not far down the street, where several Ministry of Magic employees were holding up their wands, whipping up wind and snow to block passersby's view.
Above London, Aurors on broomsticks took advantage of the snowstorm's cover to summon their Patronuses and drive away the Dementors hovering over the city.
Albert breathed warm air into his palms, rubbed them hard, pulled his trench coat tighter around himself, and walked down the dim street before eventually turning into a steaming Coffee shop.
The moment he pushed open the glass door, a wave of warm air heavy with the aroma of coffee rushed toward him. Probably because of the terrible weather, there were few customers inside.
His eyes swept across the shop before settling on a customer in the corner. He was a red-haired middle-aged man, drinking coffee while reading a newspaper.
"Hope I haven't kept you waiting too long!" Albert walked over and greeted him.
"No, I just got here!"
Scrimgeour put down his newspaper and smiled as he invited Albert to sit. "What would you like? It's on me today."
"A cappuccino," Albert told the waitress.
Only after the waitress left did Scrimgeour lower his voice. "Kingsley told me about Snape."
They did not use magic to conceal their voices, because doing so would only have seemed more suspicious.
"Oh, looks like Kingsley is still dwelling on that!"
Albert understood what he meant. Scrimgeour clearly cared greatly about whether Snape would backstab Dumbledore.
