If Bill and Fleur's wedding had been this cautious, perhaps there would not be so much trouble now.

After completing the preliminary arrangements, the three of them had no intention of returning to the Order of the Phoenix headquarters. Instead, they planned to find an empty house in a nearby muggle village to rest briefly and see whether they could contact Kingsley and obtain some useful information from him.
There were really only two difficult parts to this Rescue Mission: finding out whether the Death Eaters intended to imprison the Weasley Couple in Azkaban Prison, and determining when they planned to leave.
If the intelligence was wrong, they would only be wasting their time.
As for the Dark wizards escorting the Weasley Couple to Azkaban, they were hardly a problem. With Albert's current overwhelming strength against most wizards, he could easily deal with them.
While resting and discussing the plan, Sirius managed to get in touch with Kingsley.
Kingsley truly deserved his reputation as an elite Auror trained by the Ministry of Magic. He quickly obtained definite intelligence from a former colleague: Arthur and Molly had indeed been taken to the Ministry of Magic. Not only them, but also the guests who had failed to escape and been captured had been sent there for interrogation. Only a handful of Pure-blood wizards received the privilege of being released immediately. The remaining unlucky ones all received the detention-and-imprisonment package, while the Weasley Couple were subjected to harsh questioning.
