On the second floor of Hogwarts, the door to the Temporary Meeting Room was suddenly pushed open. More than a month before the start of term, the four Heads of House had gathered at the school in advance.

Professor McGonagall, who led the group, looked exceptionally grave. Anyone who knew her could tell that she was in a very bad mood.

"I've just received a letter from the School Board."

Professor McGonagall casually tossed a letter onto the conference table as though it were nothing more than a useless scrap of paper.

"About the new Headmaster?"

An eerie silence suddenly descended upon the room. Ever since Voldemort had gained complete control of the Ministry of Magic, they had known this day would come.

"Who did they choose?"

Professor Sprout was the first to break the silence. She looked uneasily at the letter but ultimately did not reach out to pick it up.

"Severus Snape?" Flitwick looked at the letter and asked tentatively. He had once heard Albert mention that Snape would become the new Headmaster.

"Severus. We should have expected it."

Professor Slughorn picked up the letter, opened it, and quickly read its contents before letting out a soft sigh.

Of all the Death Eaters, Snape was undoubtedly the most suitable for the role. He had taught at Hogwarts for many years and knew everything about the place, ensuring Voldemort's control over the ancient school.

"Those cowards compromised!" Professor McGonagall said with disgust.

"There was nothing else they could do, Minerva," Professor Slughorn soothed softly. "No one dares defy Lord Voldemort now. I understand..."

"If it weren't for those children, I would have resigned and left Hogwarts long ago."

Professor Sprout was deeply pessimistic. She simply could not imagine what a horrifying place Hogwarts would become under Lord Voldemort's control.
