Knock, knock, knock! After a rapid series of knocks, the door was pushed open from outside. Ron hurried in and shouted at Harry, who was saying his final goodbyes to Ginny, "Harry, Albert's here. He's waiting for you!"
"You really are a thoughtless idiot," Hermione said to Ron helplessly. "Let's go out first. Don't disturb them."
"It's not like they're saying goodbye forever."
Ron muttered as Hermione dragged him away.
"I'd bet Lord Voldemort won't live past tonight."
Watching the bedroom door close again, Ginny turned to Harry and said, "Ron really is a thoughtless idiot. No wonder he's never managed to win Hermione over."
"Don't worry. I'll come back," Harry said, ignoring her comment.
"I know."
"We've made thorough preparations for this, and Albert is here too." Harry looked into Ginny's eyes and gave her one final warning. "So promise me you'll stay here. Don't go to Hogwarts, whether for me or for our child."
"I will." The smile vanished from Ginny's face as she nodded solemnly.
"And when the war is over, we'll get married."
As he spoke, Harry took out the ring he had prepared and slipped it onto the ring finger of Ginny's outstretched left hand.
Ginny's lips trembled as tears of joy welled up in her eyes.
Just as she wanted to kiss and hug Harry, she saw him reach into his pocket again.
"You'll keep this for me for now."
Without giving the tearful girl time to react, Harry pulled out a key and pressed it into her hand.
"No... Hermione said you'd definitely be all right."
Ginny's eyes were already filled with tears. She knew Harry was making arrangements for after his death.
"Of course I'll be all right. Albert said I'd definitely survive this Wizarding War too."
Harry gently held Ginny as
