The three of them did not actually talk about much. Professor McGonagall looked utterly exhausted; the joy brought by a great victory clearly could not entirely dispel that fatigue. What everyone needed most now was to lie in bed with their eyes closed and rest, easing the physical and mental exhaustion caused by a night of desperate fighting, rather than drinking copious amounts of strong tea to force themselves awake while dealing with the mess left behind by the war.
Professor McGonagall had no choice either. After all, she was the Deputy Headmaster, and she would likely be appointed the next Headmistress within the next few days.
The damage the war had done to the castle could be set aside for now, but the enormous number of corpses left behind during the fighting needed to be dealt with immediately. Otherwise, they could easily turn into a terrifying disaster.
What was more, that was far from the only mess Professor McGonagall needed to handle. Over the next few days, and perhaps even longer, she would have to spend a great deal of energy cleaning up the aftermath.
That was also the main reason Professor McGonagall had sought out Albert. She had hoped someone could help share the burden, but she was clearly destined to be disappointed.
Fortunately, Albert did not simply wash his hands of the matter. He still offered Professor McGonagall whatever useful help he could and briefly explained the handling ideas in the Crisis Plan for her reference. Those were far more reliable than anything the exhausted Professor McGonagall could come up with on the spot.
