After parting ways with Harry and the other two, Albert quietly made his way to the Room of Requirement on the Eighth Floor under the cover of the Disillusionment Charm.
The moment he pushed open the door and entered, quite a few people on the sofa to the right stood and waved at him.
"Sorry to keep you waiting."
Albert had barely sat down in the empty seat everyone had made for him when familiar complaints rose around him. "Where were you earlier? We've been waiting for you!"
"I had something personal to deal with."
Albert smiled and greeted everyone. As for the complaints, he did not care in the slightest. He trusted that no one would truly begrudge waiting a little longer; they merely wanted to tease him for being late when he was usually so punctual.
"Why did you call us all here?" Cedric asked, though he clearly already knew.
"Yes, there is something."
Albert raised a hand and pressed it down, quieting everyone before briefly explaining why he had gathered them.
"Now that Voldemort is truly dead and the war is over, it is time for the Defence Association to disband."
"So soon?"
Most of the members still felt a strong sense of belonging to the Defence Association Albert had created.
"I'm just telling you in advance so everyone can prepare themselves."
Albert was quite gratified that they did not want the Defence Association to disband, but he had no intention of keeping it going.
Like the Order of the Phoenix, they had gathered to fight Voldemort and would disperse with Voldemort's death.
Even if they forcibly kept it together, it would eventually fall apart on its own. It was better to end things cleanly, leave everyone with unforgettable memories, and lay the groundwork for something else.
