Being busy made it easy to overlook the passage of time. By the time Albert extricated himself from Avalon's complicated affairs, it was already mid-May.

Perhaps because there was less than a month until the exams, Hogwarts Castle was steeped in tension. The school library was always packed with students studying hard for one last push. Even Hermione came to spend time with Albert less often, devoting more energy to her final revision in hopes of bringing her Hogwarts years to a perfect close.

Albert fully supported Hermione's decision. He, too, had some final matters to wrap up for the semester:

Of course, he would still make time to explain the ideas behind compiling the "Defence Against the Dark Arts Guide" to Cedric, as well as the issues that required special attention in the Defence Against the Dark Arts exam, so that Cedric's path would not become too difficult after Albert left his post.

Yet compared with Avalon's other companions, Cedric was undoubtedly fortunate. At the very least, he had already found his path for the future.

Many former members of the Defence Association were still busy building Avalon, and simply did not have Cedric's luck.

Even though they had made countless plans for their futures during Avalon's construction, those plans remained in their heads and were difficult to put into practice. No one could say for certain when Avalon would officially be completed.

Delaying their job search by a year or two might not seem like much of a problem.

But they would still miss the Ministry of Magic's best recruitment period. Although many of them had no intention of working for the Ministry, they had to admit that it was a good opportunity.
