Apology Letter
"Oh my God, Mafalda, what happened? Who made her angry?" Rufus put his half-finished drink on his desk, looked up at the office from which the voice came, and asked the Director's assistant.
"Someone sent a letter," Mafalda said softly, glancing at the office door. "And then, this is how it happened."
Unlike Rufus, Mafalda was somewhat afraid of her boss and was always extra careful when talking about her, lest she lose her job.
"A letter?" Rufus was puzzled, but he didn't ask any further questions, knowing his boss's personality.
Yes, a letter, a letter that had been torn to shreds.
The Head of the Misuse of Magic Office had never been so angry. She felt threatened, and the person threatening her was Hertok Dagworth.
She was very familiar with the name.
A few days ago, Hertok Dagworth came by, but she turned him down decisively.
This time, Hertok didn't come, but he sent her a letter that basically said: if you don't apologize to him, then I'll have to apologize to him myself, through the Daily Prophet.
Hertok even had an apology prepared and sent it in an envelope.
Even without reading the manuscript, she knew what the consequences would be if Potions Master like Hertok Dagworth apologized for the trouble he had caused in the Daily Prophet.
No one would think Hertok Dagworth was making a mountain out of a molehill; they would think, why should the Ministry of Magic's mistake require an apology from the Potions Master?
Then, it was her turn to be unlucky.
The worst-case scenario is that she loses her current job. Many people are eyeing her position, and her former colleagues, with whom she has a bad relationship, will definitely take advantage of her misfortune and help her get off the hook.
Apologize; that's the only thing we can do right now.
Let Hertok Dagworth get his Gold Membership Card back smoothly, otherwise... who knows what else he might do.
It's truly incomprehensible how things turned out this way.
The problem still needs to be solved.
Who was the guy Hertok wanted him to apologize to? "Mafalda."
The Head of the Misuse of Magic Office had long forgotten who had gotten herself into this trouble, but she knew her assistant did, and Mafalda was one of the few who knew the truth.
Finally, after reviewing the files, Mafalda wrote an apology letter herself. Actually, she could have had her assistant write it, but... she didn't in the end, to avoid causing any further trouble.
How could Head of the Misuse of Magic Office be a brainless person?
This little thing, just bear with it and it will pass, just bear with it... Quill in my hand bent.
On a weekend afternoon, Albert left Rowena's office. Professor Smith was good at many things, and the two had a lot in common.
The academic exchanges and communication between the two parties greatly enhanced Albert's skills and experience.
Just as Albert returned to the Common Room, an older boy called out to Albert and handed him a letter. The envelope only had the recipient's name on it, but not the sender's, which was very strange. However, Albert knew from the W on the beeswax that the letter came from the Ministry of Magic.
Albert had already guessed the contents of the letter, so he opened it on the spot.
Mr. Anderson: We received a letter from Mr. Hertok ...
Albert glanced at it quickly; it was all hypocritical excuses, and the so-called apologies were completely insincere. But Albert didn't expect them to actually apologize.
What Albert was particularly concerned about was the sender's name: Dolores Umbridge, the Director of the Department of Magical Prohibitions and Misuse.
"Dolores Umbridge?" Albert looked at the sender's name and repeated it softly.
Then, Albert frowned slightly and muttered, "Umbridge? That sounds familiar. Ministry of Magic? Umbridge... Professor at Hogwarts... Defence Against the Dark Arts... Pink... Toad... Hogwarts High Inquisitor!"
"Oh, so it's that guy!" Albert suddenly realized, finally remembering who this guy was.
That Defense Against the Dark Arts professor who appeared in the fifth book? I never expected that guy to be the Director of the Department for the Prevention of Misuse of Magic.
At that moment, Albert understood why Hertok hated this woman so much.
Calling her an ugly woman is not an exaggeration at all!
In Albert's fragmented memories, Umbridge was a self-righteous, unreasonable, and controlling woman.
Expecting her to apologize? That's a bit difficult. It's really putting Hertok in a tough spot. He's had a tough time getting that Gold Membership Card back.
Albert examined the envelope, comparing it to the handwriting on the warning letter in his memory. It shouldn't have been written by that guy named Mafalda Hopkirk.
Actually, there's another clue.
The writing on the parchment was so deep that it seemed the writer wanted to poke a hole in it.
This is enough to show that the writer was very excited at the time.
If Albert knew that Umbridge had used up five Quill to write this letter, he wouldn't have been simply moved.
In Albert's view, if the other party could take all these details into account, then he could only say that the matter was settled.
However, such a possibility is very small.
However, knowing that Dolores Umbridge was the Director of the Ministry of Magic Misuse of Magic Office, Albert could easily understand why she would allow the Dementor to attack Harry.
After all, as the Director for Misuse of Magic Office, she was naturally very familiar with the relevant laws.
"What's wrong? Whose letter is it?" Lee Jordan asked curiously.
"Ministry of Magic, that matter from last time is resolved." Albert folded the letter and stuffed it back into his robe pocket. "Where are you planning to go?"
"The library, together?"
"Okay, wait a minute, I was just about to go to the library to look up something." Albert went back to his dorm to get his things.
"Looking up something?" Lee Jordan exclaimed, realizing what he meant. "A riddle?"
What riddle?
"You didn't know?" Lee Jordan looked at Shanna in surprise.
"Know what?" Shanna asked, looking confused.
"It's Albert and Katrina's bet!" Lee Jordan explained with a laugh. "I heard they made a bet on answering riddles. I heard Albert and Katrina talking this morning that it's probably in the middle of the month, and they're seeing who can answer a hundred riddles correctly."
"One hundred riddles?" Shanna's eyes widened. Riddles weren't too difficult for her, but answering one hundred riddles correctly was no easy task.
Without a doubt, this is a contest between two geniuses.
"Who do you think will win?" Lee Jordan asked Shanna.
"Needless to say, it's Albert, of course," Shanna said matter-of-factly. "That guy is a true genius, how could he possibly lose to someone else?"
