I Have Galleons
By placing Katrina's Riddle Bet during Quidditch Match, it was clear that Ezebel didn't want others to witness it. Perhaps Isobel had his own reasons, and he obviously didn't want too many people to know the secret of entering and leaving Ravenclaw.
Although students from other houses may be able to successfully answer the riddles, their chances of gaining access to the Ravenclaw Common Room are slim.
"Wait!"
Before Isobel turned to leave, Albert suddenly called out to her.
"Is there anything else?" Isobel stopped and turned to look at Albert.
"Professor Snape has this ability, you know? When I look him in the eye, I feel like he can see right through me." Albert quickened his pace, walking alongside Isobel down the corridor. "Do you know what that means?"
"Why would you think that?" Isobel asked after a moment of silence.
"I think this must be some kind of magic," Albert said as he walked. "In the Muggle world, there's a concept called mind reading."
Isobel stopped and turned to look at Albert, asking, "You want to learn this kind of magic?"
"No, I want to find a way to counter him." Albert looked helpless. "Nobody wants to be read about, especially Professor Snape. To be honest, I hate the feeling of being seen through."
"You mean Legilimency?"
"So, it really is magic." Albert revealed an expression that said, "I knew it."
"Legilimency can be used to cheat on exams." Isobel stopped and looked Albert up and down, then suddenly said, "Of course, you probably don't need to cheat."
"Is there any way to counter this?" Albert immediately pressed. "I mean, magic that can protect you from others understanding your thoughts."
"Occlumency, there should be books like that in the Restricted Section." Isobel stared into Albert's eyes and said abruptly, "Actually, you know, right!"
"What is it?" Albert's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately looked away, feigning confusion as he asked.
"Regarding Occlumency," Isobel's expression remained largely unchanged, "Or Legilimency."
"Yes, I found a similar statement in the library, but I couldn't find any relevant books." Albert knew he couldn't hide it from the other party any longer, so he stopped pretending to be stupid, otherwise he would really become a fool.
Isobel gave Albert a deep look before looking away.
"I hope to find relevant books. Of course, it would be even better if you knew how to use this magic and were willing to teach me," Albert said with a smile.
"I do know how to Occlumency," Isobel said.
Oh, he really does! Albert was just saying it casually, but Isobel actually said he knows this Occlumency!
Albert paused for a moment, then suddenly thought of a possibility and tentatively asked, "Was it Mr. McDougal who taught you?"
"Why do you ask that?" Isobel asked calmly, because Albert had guessed correctly.
"So, I guessed right," Albert said to himself. "This Easter, Professor Broad took me to Mr. McDougal's party..."
Isobel suddenly made a shushing gesture at him. Someone was walking towards them from across the corridor; it was Professor Smith.
Although Albert was a little puzzled, he didn't say anything more about it. When he turned around, he found that Professor Smith Rowena Smith was already a few steps away from them.
"Good afternoon," Professor Smith greeted the two with a smile, then his gaze fell on Albert. "Have you written back to them?"
"Yes, he just replied to me a few days ago," Albert nodded.
"That's good." Professor Smith suddenly asked, "By the way, what were you talking about?"
"We were discussing Ancient Runes," Albert explained casually. "Professor Babbling is preparing to publish a book on Ancient Runes and hopes I can help her revise the manuscript on that part. Isobel is also very good at Ancient Runes, and I was asking her if she would be willing to help."
"Revised manuscript?" Smith looked at Albert in surprise. He remembered that Mr. McDougal had also asked Albert to do something similar before, so he understood.
"My mastery of Ancient Runes is far inferior to Albert's," Isobel politely declined.
"Yes, that's a good thing." Professor Smith said with a smile, "When it's done, remember to let me know, I'll go buy a copy to take a look."
"I'll write it down," Albert said earnestly. As he spoke, he actually pulled a notebook from his pocket and scribbled down the sentence.
At this moment, both Isobel and Professor Smith were stunned.
None of them expected that Albert would actually write it down.
After Professor Smith walked away, the two resumed their previous conversation.
"By the way," Albert asked, "Could you teach me Occlumency?"
"Why should I teach you?" Isobel retorted.
"I have Galleon," Albert said without hesitation.
"I'm just getting started." Isobel wasn't lying; she learned Occlumency this summer, just as Albert said, through her uncle Morg McDougal.
However, does that mean you agreed with what I just said?
"It doesn't matter, I just need you to guide me through the basics," Albert said without hesitation. "I'll figure out the rest on my own."
As he spoke, Albert crossed his two index fingers together. "How about this price?"
"You really are rich," Isobel said meaningfully.
"Learning Apparition also requires Galleon," Albert said dismissively. "Of course, since you're not a proper one, I think that price is reasonable."
"Sure, as long as you don't regret it," Isobel agreed.
"When will it begin?" Albert asked.
"Sundays, once a week, in the Transfiguration Club classroom." Isobel thought for a moment and then reminded him, "Don't get your hopes up too high. I'm not good at Legilimency, and besides, I won't relinquish Galleon."
"No problem," Albert said with a smile. "If you know of any books on Occlumency, please let me know."
"This... ' The Advanced Occlumency Guide '," Isobel hesitated for a moment before saying, "This is a book my uncle showed me. If you want to find it, you should be able to find it in the Restricted Section of the school."
"See you this weekend!" Albert and prepared to turn and leave.
"Aren't you worried that I'm lying to you?" Isobel asked curiously.
"Can you?" Albert countered. "Besides, I have Galleon."
Isobel's face twitched; this kind of talk always sounded like something a nouveau riche would say. Of course, she believed Albert's words; after all, how could someone who bet ten Galleon with Katrina be short of Galleon? As for using this to play a trick on her? Isobel thought that was unlikely.
Although the level of trust between the two isn't high, their social circles, both now and in the future, are destined to overlap significantly, a fact that both Albert and Isobel have realized. Furthermore, both are geniuses with their own pride, and would never, and disdainfully, do anything so tasteless.
Of course, in Isobel's view, Albert was just a rich fool, and she didn't think he could easily master Occlumency.
However, Isobel apparently didn't know that there was such a thing as a cheat code.
