Promise
"They really think I'm a sucker, huh?" Albert couldn't help but laugh after reading Mundungus Fletcher's letter.
In his letter, Mundungus told him that he had found the pelt of the Swamp Snatcher, but it would cost a huge sum of 20 Galleon.
Is twenty Galleon expensive? If you really want to know, it's not that expensive, but he still finds it ridiculous that Mundungus Fletcher would ask him for twenty Galleon with just a Swamp Snatcher's fur.
Was the other party blinded by greed? Or was he simply testing his intelligence? In any case, that guy was truly greedy beyond belief! Albert did want to develop Mundungus Fletcher into his raw material supplier, and some things could only be obtained through the black market, but that didn't mean he was willing to be fleeced like a fat sheep.
Albert never minded letting Mundungus Fletcher make a small profit, achieving a mutually beneficial outcome. After all, businessmen are driven by money. But if someone is so stupid as to not even realize this, then there's nothing more to say! Albert simply wrote a letter to Mundungus Fletcher, bluntly telling him to reprice the item, and if it wasn't suitable, there was nothing more to discuss.
He had many things to take care of and didn't intend to waste time on Mundungus. If that guy didn't work out, he'd find another Mundungus, or Mundungus.
Of course, Albert wasn't afraid of being deceived. Legilimency could tell whether someone was lying to him, which was his confidence. As long as you have the ability, some things are actually quite simple.
"Shera, please take care of this!" Albert patted the owl. "You need to go out and move around more, don't get as fat as Tom, what if you can't fly?"
Albert wouldn't mind having another fat owl, but he still needed an owl to deliver his messages.
Shera grabbed the envelope, spread her wings, and flew away, letting out a disgruntled cry before leaving, as if protesting to Albert about his weight gain.
It is a very diligent owl.
There's just how many letters Albert always writes... Well, he definitely does look a bit stronger after the Christmas Holiday...
Albert closed the window again and put the Fountain Pen back in the pen holder. Downstairs, Nia was busy with her holiday homework. Children always like to leave their homework for last. Next to her, Tom was quietly lying on the hot water bottle cushion, lazily stretching his limbs, looking just like a little old man.
"Tom, if this continues, you'll get so fat you won't be able to walk!" Albert picked Tom up and bounced him a couple of times, then turned to Nia was doing her homework next to him, and said, "Don't give Tom any other snacks besides his daily meals."
"Oh." Nia's gaze remained fixed on her homework, but she suddenly looked up and asked, "How do I solve this problem?"
Tom sat down on Nia's notebook, his obese body instantly covering the entire notebook.
"Don't let Tom cause trouble." Nia placed Tom next to Albert and took his homework.
"Keep the ones you don't know for now, I'll take a look for you later." Albert turned Tom over, rubbed his belly, which was soft and warm; a cat's body temperature is much higher than a human's.
Then, after Albert brought drinks to himself and Nia, he glanced at the contents of the notebook and found that Nia had quite a few questions she couldn't answer.
Is he planning to slack off? Or is he preparing to test himself? "Have you decided what you want to do in the future?" Albert moved Tom away from the teacup to avoid drinking a strange beverage laced with cat hair.
"No," Nia shook her head.
"If there's nothing in particular you want to do, then come and help me!" Albert said after thinking for a moment.
"Help you with what?" Nia looked up curiously, no longer teasing Tom with the pen.
"Managing money or something," Albert replied without hesitation.
"You have money?" Nia poked Tom's belly fat, reminding him, "Or are you planning to leave your allowance with me? That's a good idea."
"There will be more in the future." Albert was quite confident. If a wizard really wanted to get money, wouldn't he have it?
"Hmm, that's no problem." Nia thought for a moment, not sure if she understood, but nodded in agreement.
"However, you need to learn first. Set a small goal for yourself, get into a good school, and learn the economics knowledge you need to learn, so that I don't lose money." Albert pointed to the questions on the workbook and said, "Now, take it back and think about how to do it. You really won't ask me anymore."
"I'm not a child anymore, why are you coaxing me like this?" Nia grabbed Tom's tail and gently wiggled it, causing it to bulge slightly, as if she was quite dissatisfied.
"I'm not lying to you. When have I ever lied to you?" Albert said.
"Do you want me to give examples one by one?" Nia raised an eyebrow.
"No need, anyway, I didn't lie to you."
"Hmph." Nia snorted lightly, expressing her dissatisfaction, and suddenly asked, "Do you plan to live here from now on?"
"Both sides. However, there seem to be some restrictions on the wizard side. I'll take some time to look into it and see if I can find any legal loopholes."
"I feel like wizards are all stupid," Nia muttered. "Magic is so convenient, why is wizarding civilization so backward? It's already the 20th century!"
"That's the downside of magic. The development of magical civilizations is usually quite slow," Albert thought for a moment and then said what he thought was the reason, "Wizards have a slower pace of life, just like our Tom."
As he spoke, Albert pointed to Tom, who had climbed back onto the cushion and was lying down again.
"Of course, the small wizarding population is another reason. If we hadn't been making progress, I would even doubt whether the wizarding civilization would have remained at the level of the Middle Ages," Albert said self-deprecatingly. Although wizards were also making progress, it was much slower than that of Muggle.
"How do you plan to make money in the future?" Nia knew that Albert was very capable. Since he said that he would have money to manage in the future, then he must have money.
"Just rob it?"
"No, this is a secret for now. Magic is very convenient, and if a wizard has no morals, making money is quite easy." Albert blinked and said, "Also, don't make wild guesses. We won't do anything illegal."
"Also, you should first consider how to improve yourself."
Actually, Albert was just saying that; he just wanted to find a role model for his sister so that her great talent wouldn't go to waste.
Whether Nia helps him in the future or not is irrelevant.
