Exchange Blows
Albert's face showed a look of surprise when he saw Isobel suddenly draw her wand and attack Rowena Smith.
Without a doubt, Isobel's sneak attack was successful. The Cruciatus Curse struck Rowena Smith's body, freezing the smile on his face and contorting his cheeks in pain, making him look incredibly ferocious and terrifying.
"You weren't under the Imperius Curse from the beginning?" Rowena Smith had no idea that Isobel had prepared another wand.
Albert's cheek muscles twitched involuntarily when Albert saw that Isobel was actually going to talk to Rowena Smith.
Without hesitation, he immediately drew his wand and ambushed Rowena Smith, disarming him.
It's hard to say what might happen before things are over.
Moreover, Albert hadn't forgotten that this was the Forbidden Forest, Rowena Smith could use Apparition to escape at any time, although the chances of that were slim.
"You..."
Isobel turned her head and saw that Albert was also holding a wand. She had never expected that Albert had prepared two wands as well.
"Stop talking nonsense and get this done quickly," Albert urged. "Stop spouting such pointless drivel if you want revenge."
"Mr. Anderson is right, you shouldn't give the enemy a chance." Rowena Smith scrambled to his feet, brushing the dirt and decaying leaves off his robe.
"Also, you'd better not use the Unforgivable Curses." He sneered, "You're not ruthless enough; the Cruciatus Curse isn't very effective."
"Shut up, Cruciatus Curse!" Isobel gripped his wand tightly, pointed it at his enemy, and shouted again.
Rowena Smith was hit by another Cruciatus Curse, and her face turned even paler.
"Crush the Heart, Crush the Heart, Crush the Heart! Your father was your best friend, he trusted you so much, how could you do this to him? You beast, repent for your sins in agony!" Isobel roared furiously, his eyes filled with the satisfaction of triumphant revenge, torturing his enemy with a clumsy Cruciatus Curse, venting the hatred that had accumulated over the years.
She had waited too long for this moment.
"That's enough. If you want revenge, kill him," Albert interrupted.
Since Rowena Smith wanted Albert dead, he wouldn't show any mercy.
"What."
Isobel looked surprised for a moment, clearly not expecting Albert to say that.
"If you can't bring yourself to do it, just knock him out and feed him to the Acromantula." Albert didn't care what Isobel thought and prepared to use Stunning Spell on Rowena Smith to knock him out first, and then discuss how to deal with him.
However, Rowena Smith was faster than him, and somehow a wand appeared in her hand, blocking his Stunning Spell.
"What..."
Everything happened so fast that Isobel barely had time to react. She was initially angry that Albert had interrupted her revenge, but that anger turned into a strange panic when she saw Rowena Smith holding a wand.
Rowena Smith looked at them with a cold smile.
"You think you're the only ones who prepared two wands?" Rowena Smith waved her wand and chanted a spell at Isobel, blasting her away.
"Damn it." Albert immediately launched an attack on Rowena Smith. Instead of using any powerful spells, he quickly used a silent Disarming Charm to try to interrupt the other's spell.
"He's already proficient in using Silent Spell; he's quite an impressive guy."
As Rowena blocked Albert's attack, he even had the composure to speak, "No wonder they think so highly of you. But it was a huge mistake of yours not to tell Dumbledore about this. Did you really think you could defeat me on your own?"
"I just wanted to figure out why, and I never imagined you would go to such lengths." Albert's tone was calm; Felix Felicis allowed him to better utilize his powers.
"The result was a bit beyond my expectations."
"What an arrogant guy."
Rowena Smith suddenly laughed. "Actually, I'd rather see you struggling in pain and begging me for mercy."
"Then you may be disappointed." Albert waved his wand intently, and the Charms blasted a large crater under Rowena Smith's feet, almost causing him to lose his balance.
As Rowena Smith regained his balance, a bright light flashed, and he was left hanging upside down in the air, as if an invisible hook had caught his feet and was holding him upside down.
The surrounding vines, under the influence of the Transfiguration Spell, transformed into spears and stabbed towards Rowena Smith.
With a clang, the vines struck the shield, and then Rowena Smith's wand tip spewed flames, completely igniting the vines and thwarting Albert's attack.
Avada Kedavra! A beam of green light pierced through the raging flames and flew toward Rowena Smith.
Albert never expected to kill Rowena Smith with a regular spell, because he knew that was completely unrealistic.
Although he had never used the Avada Kedavra Curse, he still knew how to use the Killing Curse. With the help of Felix Felicis, this curse had a chance to kill the other person.
To be honest, he regretted not using Banshee's Howl to take down his opponent immediately.
The decision to directly target Rowena Smith was largely driven by Felix Felicis's instinctive intuition.
The Killing Curse missed, blowing a nearby tree down, and Rowena Smith vanished into thin air, leaving only the sound of falling trees around him.
"Where is that guy?" Isobel glanced at Albert, not expecting that this guy was even more ruthless than himself, directly using the Avada Kedavra Curse.
"He should still be nearby." Albert glanced around and then at Isobel out of the corner of his eye. "Remember to kill him later."
"You really are heartless!"
Rowena Smith's voice rang out from all directions, "They even used the Avada Kedavra Curse, which is more ruthless than other Dark wizard."
"If you want to kill me first, don't expect me to show any mercy."
Albert carefully observed his surroundings; he knew Rowena Smith wouldn't run away.
If he really escapes, he's doomed. They'll definitely tell Dumbledore, and everyone else will know. They'll never let him get away with it.
Would Brood and his group allow Rowena Smith to kill their heir? Obviously not.
Given their discerning eye and the power they wield, this matter is far from over.
The matter of Isobel's father was not investigated in depth; the main concern was that he had already been eliminated from the competition.
"You're absolutely right. If you weren't Wildsmith's candidate, we could definitely be good friends."
"Good friend? Forget it!" Albert couldn't help but sneer. "Look at how you treat your friends, who would want to be your friend?"
"Shut up," Rowena Smith roared. "That was an accident."
A spell Accio from the bushes on the right, Albert waved his wand forcefully, roaring, "Shield Charm!"
The spell struck the Shield Charm, unleashing a burst of intense light and exploding directly on the Shield Charm, causing soil to corrode and leaves to fly everywhere.
Albert felt a tightness in his chest and adjusted his posture to avoid losing his balance.
"I'm really surprised that you managed to block it with the Shield Charm." Rowena Smith walked out of the woods with her wand in hand, and seeing Albert almost fall to the ground, she laughed wildly. "Looks like I won after all. Cruciatus Curse—Crusader Curse."
The results of his recent training paid off; he successfully jumped away and flipped on the ground while Rowena Smith was chanting the Cruciatus Curse.
"Keep struggling, but you can't hide forever, you'll be torn apart..."
"Confringo."
A Charms flew toward Rowena Smith, interrupting the Cruciatus Curse and forcing him to cast a spell to defend himself, but he was still blasted away and staggered.
Isobel charged forward, brandishing her wand and re-engaging with Rowena Smith.
However, compared to Albert after taking Felix Felicis, Isobel's strength seemed much weaker, Rowena Smith easily deflected her Charms.
"You're not bad either, but there's still a considerable gap between you and Albert." Rowena Smith blocked Isobel's spells again and again, easily deflecting or interrupting his attacks.
After regaining his balance, Albert raised his wand, pointed it at Rowena Smith over Isobel, and shouted, "Expelliarmus!"
The red light passed over Isobel's shoulder and flew toward Rowena Smith, but he deflected it with his wand.
"Get out of the way!" Albert stepped forward quickly, pushed Isobel aside, and locked eyes with Rowena Smith. The two raised their wands almost simultaneously, as if in a duel.
"Confringo."
"Extremely painful and agonizing."
Albert had never experienced such torment. It felt as if his bones were being scraped with a knife. The pain spread throughout his body, causing him to collapse to the ground, his entire body covered in sweat.
Rowena Smith fared no better; Albert's Exploding Charm was aimed insidiously at his feet, blasting him away and sending him crashing to the ground.
Isobel seized the opportunity and rushed out, a beam of green light shooting from the tip of her wand, striking Rowena Smith's body. However, Rowena Smith was not killed by the Avada Kedavra Curse.
Yes, he is not dead.
The Avada Kedavra Curse requires very powerful Magical Power as its foundation.
In fact, this is also a prerequisite for most Dark Magic.
Although Isobel far surpassed her classmates, her Magical Power was far inferior to Albert was practically cheating.
Rowena Smith was startled and raised her wand, striking the air violently.
Isobel felt something hot and whip-like strike her face. Caught off guard, she was slammed to the ground, Venus and nearly fainting.
"I've told you, you're not suited to use the Unforgivable Curses. You're not ruthless enough, and your Magical Power isn't strong enough." Rowena Smith spat out a mouthful of blood and wiped the blood from her nose with the back of her hand.
Isobel's spell did have an effect, but it failed to kill Rowena Smith.
Albert glanced at the fallen Isobel, struggled to his feet, and raised his wand to deflect the oncoming spell.
It's the Cruciatus Curse again.
However, it has been significantly weakened by the Shield Charm.
Albert swayed slightly, then regained his balance.
Instead of attacking him, Rowena Smith used Summoning Charm to retrieve Isobel's wand from the ground.
"I prefer to see you struggle in pain," Rowena Smith said with a smile. "Actually, I know you've been practicing Charms. Unfortunately, you're no match for me. Maybe you can after you graduate, but not now."
"That really hurt, it hurt so much I wanted to kick your balls so you could feel the pain too," Albert said coldly, staring at Rowena Smith. "Let's start round two."
"What an arrogant fellow. But most geniuses have that kind of arrogance." Rowena Smith looked at Albert, his face beaming with even more delight. He suddenly asked, "Would you duel?"
"Perhaps we should conduct this duel with the etiquette of a duel, where the loser will lose his life. Let's bow to each other, Albert," Rowena Smith said, bowing slightly to him, only to be met with a Stunning Spell.
"How rude of you," Rowena Smith said with a laugh as she reached out and brushed the spell aside. "They must be hoping you would behave more politely."
His answer was Albert's spell.
At this moment, Albert's mind was almost blank. His only thought was to defeat the enemy in front of him. He instinctively squeezed out his Magical Power and threw all kinds of Charms at Rowena Smith at an astonishing speed. He made full use of the Silent Spell.
The spells from both sides clashed in the Forbidden Forest, and magical lights flickered continuously in the dim woods.
Rowena Smith is not doing well; she is even showing signs of being suppressed and occasionally has to use Apparition to move and dodge.
However, the two had real combat experience, and Rowena Smith was much stronger than Albert. Even though Albert had taken Felix Felicis, he was no match for him.
Perhaps he should Apparition away and then find an opportunity to take down Rowena Smith with Banshee's Howl, but Albert didn't do that; he gritted his teeth and Exchange Blows against her head-on.
It felt a bit foolish, but Albert knew he was the ultimate victor, and Rowena Smith would be the one to die here. Knowing the outcome, he was no longer afraid! "You win."
Albert glanced at the wand that had flown out of his hand, then regained his composure.
"I've won. Looks like you're going to die here today. Do you regret not telling Dumbledore about this?" Rowena Smith approached Albert, pointed his wand at his heart, and turned to look at Isobel walking towards them. "I'm quite surprised that you didn't take the opportunity to escape."
"Can you escape?" Isobel countered.
"Of course you can't escape, but I'd rather see you running away in a panic," Rowena Smith said with amusement. "However, I'm more curious to see how those guys will react when they find out that both of you candidates died in the Forbidden Forest."
"Kill me, but don't think it's over. If I disappear, they'll know you did all this." Isobel's tone remained calm. These words weren't a threat, but rather the final mockery of a loser. She had come prepared.
Albert glanced at Isobel and realized that the guy really did look alike to him.
"What are you going to do? Kill us now, or..." Albert suddenly asked.
"I hate your composure," Rowena Smith frowned. "How can you remain so calm when you're about to die?"
"Do you think you'll let us go if we act panicked?" Isobel sneered. "If that's the case, why should we panic and make you happy?"
"Let's go. I hope you can stay calm when facing the Acromantula." Rowena Smith looked in a certain direction, a strange smile suddenly appearing on his face, and said softly, "Look, those big guys can't wait to enjoy their meal."
