Saw It
"Here you go, your Pearl Milk Tea."
Albert handed Nia a glass of Pearl Milk Tea with ice, then sat down on the sofa next to her, took a big gulp, and comfortably closed his eyes.
Last time I learned how to brew tea from Mrs. Perenelle, I not only learned the techniques, but I also casually picked up a very un-magical tea ceremony skill. My brewed black tea is indeed better than before.
Daisy, who casually flipped through a tea-brewing manual, also saw a significant improvement in her tea-brewing skills.
However, there is still a significant gap compared to Mrs. Perenelle; there's no way around it, the price of top-quality French Black Tea is what it is.
To silence Nia's complaints over the past few days, Albert bought a bag of Glutinous Rice Flour at the supermarket and made Pearl Milk Tea at home.
Glutinous Rice Flour is not common in the Britain, and it took him quite a while to find it.
Pearl Milk Tea quickly became a family favorite; a cup on a hot summer day is truly refreshing.
Feeling a sudden, furry touch against his leg, Albert put down his cup, looked down at Tom rubbing against his leg, and bent down to pick him up.
"Being cute won't work, you're already 20 pounds." Albert scratched Tom's chin and put him on the sofa next to him.
When Albert returned, he found that his cat had gotten fat again. With no other choice, he reluctantly started a weight loss plan so that the cat wouldn't be too heavy to run when he took it to Hogwarts.
If he could, Albert actually didn't want to take Tom to school, worried that he would be bullied by those naughty children.
There's nothing I can do; no kid is easy to get along with.
Before, when Tom was left at home, Nia helped take care of him. Now that Nia is in high school, Daisy and Herb are too busy to take care of him properly.
This silly cat isn't like Shera, who goes out to find food on its own. If I don't take it to school, who knows what might happen.
We can't just leave it to Grandpa Luke to take care of. Although the two old people like Tom very much, that's not an excuse to abandon the cat or give it to someone else to raise.
"I can barely carry Tom anymore!" Nia said while combing Tom's fur. "Grandpa Luke always says Tom should be a little chubby to look good."
Albert suddenly didn't know what to say.
"Tom will get lost if he goes to school with you!" Nia was still a little worried. After all, they had been together for many years, and Tom was considered a member of the family.
"Don't worry, I asked an old friend to make a cat tag for Tom." Albert pulled out the cat tag that Nicholas had specially made for him from his leather bag and casually explained, "This thing has a tracking function."
As he spoke, Albert pulled out a compass, the north of which pointed to the location of the cat sign.
"With this, Tom won't get lost."
"Magic is so convenient!" Nia exclaimed enviously as she took the pointer and tried it out.
"No, magic isn't as convenient as you think. We've actually had something similar here for a long time," Albert said, shaking his head. "Unfortunately, electrical appliances can't be used at Hogwarts."
"Oh!" Nia replied casually, then looked at the books spread out on the table and asked, "What are you reading this time?"
"Divination book; I'm teaching myself Crystal Ball Divination."
Albert was flipping through the section on Crystal Ball Divination in "Parting the Mist to See the Future." He had been reading the book for several days, but no skills related to Crystal Ball Divination appeared on his Skill Panel, making Albert wonder if he had no talent in this area.
He now regrets not having consulted Nicolas Flamel about Divination back then.
"If you can really see the future, are you the only one who can?"
Nia leaned closer to the crystal ball and looked inside carefully, but there was nothing there except a cloud of mist.
Seeing that no one was paying attention to him, Tom, with his mischievous paws, tried to poke the crystal ball, but Albert stopped him.
"I just started learning on my own."
Albert reluctantly picked up Tom, put him on the ground, and explained to Nia, "The day I can really see the future, I can make a fortune with this."
"According to you, most wizards must be very rich. They only need to know the lottery numbers to win the jackpot," Daisy muttered as she placed a plate of cookies on the table.
"Wizards who can predict the future are always in the minority," Albert said, shaking his head. "Besides, most wizards don't even have a concept of pounds."
"Didn't you give Tom breakfast?" Daisy saw Tom put his head in front of the biscuit and quickly picked him up. The fat cat was still not giving up and started to act cute and beg for food.
"It's a little less than before; it's losing weight now."
"Tom seems hungry!" Daisy patted the cat's head and looked at her son, asking, "Speaking of which, didn't you used to want to study finance?"
"I don't want to think about it anymore. Anyway, I've found a better way to make money!" Albert has completely abandoned his initial dream of making money.
"Prophecy a lottery win?"
Daisy felt that her son had become very unreliable after two years at Hogwarts School, with his mind filled with strange thoughts.
"Ahem, I was just saying!" Albert interrupted Daisy helplessly.
Prophecy can indeed make money; they can completely predict the outcome of a match. Betting on football and horse racing is quite common in Europe.
However, he knew that others would find it difficult to understand before there were any real-world examples.
Albert was also helpless about this.
People, especially those in the technology sector, generally have a lower capacity for acceptance.
Daisy was surprised that Albert went to visit the legendary Nicolas Flamel, who was actually still alive, and had lived for hundreds of years without suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
Shaking off the strange thoughts in his mind, Albert refocused his gaze on the crystal ball.
The wizard's crystal ball is quite different from the crystal balls used by Muggle Divination to deceive people. The crystal balls used for Divination are usually more expensive, and the one in front of him cost 20 Galleon.
Looking at the pearly white mist inside the crystal ball, Albert frowned slightly. If he could truly Prophecy something, the mist on the crystal ball would be cleared, revealing the scene he wanted to see.
It was obvious that Albert had failed.
The crystal ball in front of me remained shrouded in mist, not the winning numbers for this lottery draw.
The so-called "Parting the Mist to See the Future" might refer to this. Could the wizard who wrote this book not have any Prophecy talent? Albert maliciously speculated as he began to flip through the book.
Suddenly, the white mist inside the crystal ball began to swirl, and Albert immediately put down his book and began to stare at the changes inside the crystal ball.
Nothing changed in the fog.
However, after opening the panel and searching carefully, he found that a Crystal Ball Divination skill had indeed appeared on the panel.
Albert immediately upgraded his skill to level two, then turned his attention back to the crystal ball.
At that moment, the mist in the crystal ball seemed to thin out a little, and Albert vaguely felt that he saw a hand writing a string of numbers on parchment.
