Communication Bookmark
A wisp of silver gas shot out rapidly from the end of Albert's wand, coalescing into a silver sphere in the void, casting a pale light on the faces in the dimly lit room.
With a creak, the door opened, and the red-haired girl walked in. Her gaze fell on the sphere of light floating in mid-air, and she said gently, "I noticed I couldn't get into the private library, so I guessed you were probably practicing magic. By the way, was that Patronus just now?"
"Hmm." Albert dispelled his Patronus, closed his eyes, and lights immediately lit up the walls of the room.
"It's said to be a very difficult spell to master." Isobel sat in the chair next to Albert, smiling as he asked, "How's your learning going?"
"I've got the basics down." Albert sat down opposite Isobel and looked at the girl in front of him, asking, "What is your Patronus?"
"How do you know I've mastered the Patronus Charm?" Isobel took out his wand, waved it, and conjured two teacups out of thin air. He then poured the milk tea from the thermos into the cups and pushed one of them toward Albert.
"Just a guess!"
Albert took a box from his leather bag, which contained sweets that Honeydukes had bought. He looked up at Isobel's face, which had a slight smile on it, and said, "With your abilities and talents, learning the Patronus Charm shouldn't be difficult."
"It's Snow Fox," Isobel said. "And yours?"
"Griffin," Albert said with a hint of helplessness.
"I think this Patronus is very suitable for you, so why do you seem a little dissatisfied?" Isobel asked, taking a sip of her milk tea.
Albert briefly explained his concerns regarding Animagus.
"That's true. However, when Animagus Transformation, as long as someone is watching, it's not easy for problems to occur." Isobel admired Albert's abilities; he was only a third-year student, yet he had already started plotting against Animagus.
"Actually, I think the Snow Fox suits me quite well," Albert said, looking into Isobel's eyes. "At least, there won't be any trouble in that regard."
Isobel was just smiling, and seemed quite happy.
"However, Professor McGonagall promised to help me. At the moment, I still have no clue about Animagus." Albert thought for a moment and said, "Well... there's no rush. I plan to complete the Animagus Transfiguration before graduation. Once I take the first step, I believe I can succeed."
"I love your confidence; it's really charming." Isobel rested her chin on one hand, using the other to cut a piece of pastry with her fork and put it in her mouth. "By the way, what were you trying just now?"
"Try using the advanced Patronus Charm," Albert said after a moment's thought. "Try concealing the Patronus's appearance, or... as far as I know, Dumbledore created an advanced use of Patronus Patronus that can be used to transmit information."
"Were you just trying that?" Isobel asked, intrigued. "Tell me how it works!"
Albert gave Isobel the information he had obtained from Aberforth, the intelligence he had gathered, and his own training diary entries.
Upon seeing a notebook detailing how to practice Advanced Patronus Charm, Isobel suddenly understood where Albert's reputation as a genius came from.
It's not just about talent; you also need to work hard!
She spent five minutes carefully reading through the notes Albert had given her. With her eyes closed, she thought for a moment and said, "I think it might not be as difficult as you think. The reason you will fail is most likely because you were misled from the beginning. Or rather, Dumbledore's brother simply did not understand the essence. He only taught you his understanding, and his way of thinking and your way of thinking are obviously two completely different things. This is why you started off on the wrong track."
"Wrong from the start?"
Albert raised an eyebrow, but still listened patiently as Isobel continued.
"Yes, multitasking is really too difficult." Isobel told Albert about his idea, "You can summon Patronus, implant what you want to say into the Patronus, and then let the Patronus deliver the message."
"Expecto Patronum!"
Albert immediately tried, concentrating his mind to project "Hello" into the Patronus. He waved it gently, and the Patronus landed on the table in front of them, uttering Albert's version of "Hello".
It really worked! Albert was utterly astonished. What on earth had that old man from Aberforth been teaching him? To this day, Albert still couldn't repeat the message in his mind while charging up. "Perhaps I should write him a letter. If that doesn't work, I'll ask Professor McGonagall." Albert tapped his forehead lightly with his finger. How could he have forgotten about Professor McGonagall? She seemed to be a member of the Order of the Phoenix and should also be able to use advanced Patronus Charm.
Even if Professor McGonagall doesn't want to teach, isn't there still Professor Flitwick? Hmph!
If Aberforth to try and fool him with fake information, Albert would accept it. He hadn't really considered it before, but he wouldn't mind causing the other party some trouble.
Taking his money for free would be a hot potato.
"It seems you succeeded." Isobel was also surprised; she had only shared her opinion, but Albert had succeeded so quickly.
"You're a genius, dear Isobel. You know, I've been worrying about this for so long." Albert happily stepped forward and gave her a hug. Looking at her face, Albert leaned down and kissed her.
It could have been a long few minutes... or even half an hour... or several days before the two finally parted ways.
Albert's slightly accelerated heartbeat gradually calmed down, and he grinned at Isobel, "Sorry, I couldn't help it."
Actually, Albert had wanted to do this for a long time. This wasn't the first time the two of them had spent time alone together, or rather, gone on a date like this.
This time, it's more like letting things take their natural course.
"Are we officially dating now?" Isobel asked suddenly, tracing his lips with his index finger.
"I thought we had started dating a long time ago."
"That's true."
The two looked at each other and smiled.
"Oh, by the way, thank you for the birthday present. Here, this is for you." Albert took a Two-Way Mirror out of his bag and handed it to Isobel. "I was originally planning to give it to you on your birthday. But consider this your early birthday present!"
"You succeeded?"
Isobel took the brand-new Two-Way Mirror and asked curiously. She knew Albert was researching Two-Way Mirror, but she was truly surprised that he had created one so quickly.
"No, this is a finished product that someone gave me." Albert took out another box from his leather bag. "At the moment, this is the only thing I can make."
As he spoke, he opened the box, took out a silver metal card slightly larger than the Wizard Card, and handed it to Isobel. It had a bas-relief of Griffin and the words: Do Not Disturb Sleeping Dragon.
"You just need to change the text after the bookmark, and it will appear on my end," Albert explained, introducing the use of Communication Bookmark.
"It seems you used your advanced Transformation Charm quite well. Is this the prototype of the communication blueprint you proposed?" Isobel used his wand to erase the text on the bookmark, leaving the words on the back of the bookmark.
"Yes!" Albert said helplessly, "Unfortunately, I found that its practicality is far from as high as I imagined. If we want this thing to become widespread, there is still a long way to go."
Wizards can Apparition, and can communicate through fireplaces when necessary. However, Albert thinks that such things will probably become quite popular after the Wizarding World descends into chaos in a few years.
"This thing, while not as practical Two-Way Mirror, will be a hit with students in love," Isobel said with a smile. "I guarantee it."
"I trust your judgment; in fact, that's what I think too," Albert said with a smile. "Of course, a secret date would feel even better."
