Detection Orb Warning
"The next Quidditch Match should be in the next two weeks." Albert turned his head to look out the window; it had started raining again!
He knew very well what the Quidditch Match meant. The second attack was also the best opportunity to make his move, and he needed to buy himself enough time.
Unfortunately, Albert hasn't yet figured out how to handle the aftermath of Tom Riddle's diary.
Getting involved in this matter means risking exposure.
Finally, he needed to find a suitable scapegoat, to deceive Voldemort, and to extricate himself from the matter.
Who would be more suitable?
Professor Lockhart, a Slytherin student, or Harry Potter? And he also needs Polyjuice Potion.
The Potions stockpile didn't have that stuff. The shards of African Tree Snake skin and the raw materials for the Bicorn Horn that I swiped from Snape last time were still there, but the Polyjuice Potion took far too long to make.
I wonder if Hertok has any Polyjuice Potion stored. Could we try to get some from him, or ask Bard for help? With the Wildsmith Family's resources, it shouldn't be difficult for them to get Polyjuice Potion for him.
"If I have time another day, I'll just make a batch myself."
"Some other time? "Albert suddenly found the idea a little funny.
That said, Nicholas had already prepared the materials for the Baruffio's Brain Elixir for him, and he was just asked to find a way to receive the batch of raw materials. Albert already had enough to do!
Even if I reschedule, I still won't be available!
Not only Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets giving him a headache, but there were also a whole host of other problems. Even with the help of the Time-Turner, he couldn't keep up. Without the help of the Skill Panel, he probably would have collapsed from exhaustion long ago.
There's no time to enjoy a moment of peace here.
Albert leaned back lazily in the wooden rocking chair, watching the raindrops splash on the glass window. The chill outside seeped in through the glass, but he was sitting by the campfire, the Incendio.
A steaming cup of milk tea was placed in front of him, and Isobel chuckled and teased, "What are you thinking about?"
"When will we be able to live the leisurely life that countless people dream of?" Albert reached out and took the milk tea, feeling the warmth from the cup, and took a leisurely sip, but then sighed softly.
"Sighing all the time can be discouraging!" Isobel said softly. "Keep trying! Bad things always pass."
If it weren't for the Basilisk problem, this semester would probably be quite comfortable!
Sure enough, Voldemort's diary should just go to hell! We'll find someone to take the blame later. Let's contact Bard first and see if we can get the Polyjuice Potion from him.
It's not good to keep asking Hertok for help; it's best to use favors sparingly.
As for Bard, he's an elder.
"Is this a gift for Nia?" Isobel examined the unfinished ornaments on the table.
"No." Albert took a sip, put down his teacup, and said, "This is what Kenneth Toller wants."
"Kenneth Toller?" Isobel raised an eyebrow.
"He plans to make money off this stuff after the second attack," Albert explained.
"Will this thing really work on the monster in the Chamber of Secrets?" Isobel raised an eyebrow slightly. Although she knew that Albert was quite skilled in alchemy, the target was the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets, a dangerous being that could kill a person or animal with just a glance.
"It should have some effect on repelling ordinary Dark Creatures. However, it probably won't do much good against that thing in the Chamber of Secrets," Albert remarked. "In Kenneth's words, it's just for peace of mind."
"That liar."
"I've told him that too... well, he has the potential to be a shrewd businessman." Albert finished his milk tea with a smile, then began assembling the things on the table. The bracelet, made of obsidian and amethyst beads, looked a bit like the cheap stuff he'd bought at a street stall in his previous life. To make the bracelet work better, Albert had put a lot of effort into it, even engraving Ancient Runes on each bead to help it form a better defensive system.
Finally, Banishing Charm was cast on it.
By the way, the Banishing Charm was something I learned in Fourth Year. It can banish Muggle, objects, and owls, so naturally it can also banish Dark Creatures.
"Do you think I should give Nia a gift?"
"Let's forget about it. You can come with me to pick out Christmas presents later." Albert took Isobel's hand, knowing what she was thinking, and comforted her. "In two years, I will send them away from Britain to seek refuge. By the time things are over here, she will have grown up."
"Ahem, you already know what the monster in the Chamber of Secrets is?" Suddenly, a voice rang out in the Room of Requirement.
"Oh, probably some kind of Dark Creatures." Albert sighed when he saw Katrina; he had almost forgotten she was still there.
Ever since Isobel erased some of Katrina's memories, she has frequently come to the Room of Requirement to act as a third wheel for the two of them.
Katrina glanced at the two intimately and couldn't help but purse her lips. She knew it wasn't right for her to come and bother Isobel, but she didn't know why she had come anyway.
As for the glasses, Katrina returned them to Isobel after noticing that Albert was also wearing the same style.
She's not stupid; she can naturally see through some things.
It must be said that Albert felt very comfortable with Katrina regaining her composure and rationality. The two returned to their previous friendship without the awkwardness of before.
"I'm still researching the truly effective gadget; it's called the Detection Orb." Albert handed a crystal ball to Isobel. "It was inspired by the Peeping Mirror. As long as there are Dark Creatures nearby, the Detection Orb will sound an alarm immediately."
Even with the Peeping Mirror available for reference, Albert still couldn't create Detection Orb in a short time; it wasn't considered a success until the Detection Orb appeared on the Skill Panel.
He is considering whether to ask someone to help him with the research.
Is it effective?
"In a place like the Forbidden Forest, the Detection Orb isn't very useful, but it's very effective in a place like the school where there are basically no Dark Creatures," Albert added. "The one you have is a work in progress; you need to find someone to test it in the Forbidden Forest."
Albert put the Detection Orb back in his pocket, planning to ask Hagrid for help testing it after it was finished.
Isobel took out his pocket watch, glanced at the time, and said to Albert, "It's Time Difference, I should go."
Let's go together!
Albert got up and stretched. As he was leaving the Room of Requirement, he suddenly felt the Detection Orb in his pocket emitting an astonishing heat, which startled Albert.
Because the Howling Charm was too noisy, he used the Fire Charm on the Detection Orb.
"What's wrong?" Isobel asked, looking at Albert who was reaching out to grab her.
"Something seems off."
"You mean the Basilisk?"
"Have no idea."
Upon noticing the warning from the Detection Orb, Albert immediately pulled Isobel back into the Room of Requirement, where it was definitely safe. Even if Voldemort knew the location, he couldn't break in if someone was inside.
Although he didn't think the Basilisk would appear on the Seventh Floor, Albert felt he should be cautious and figure out what was going on first.
