Experiment Diary
It has been a week since Colin Crevey was attacked.
People finally stopped being forgetful, especially wizards born into Muggle families. They were particularly careful about things that concerned their lives, fearing that they might become the next Colin Creevey.
Of course, there are always exceptions.
Albert has been very busy lately, preparing for his first encounter with Tom Riddle's Diary. Having learned from Quirrell's experience, Albert isn't so arrogant as to think he can control everything.
Quirrell completely underestimated Voldemort, believing he could control him, which led to his tragic end.
Albert dared not underestimate Voldemort at all, even though Tom in the diary was just a young wizard.
Only after he had made thorough preparations did Albert retrieve the box containing Tom Riddle from the Room of Requirement to study it.
At this moment, Albert was preparing for his research. He wouldn't let Riddle know his true identity; who knows if Riddle could even perceive what was happening outside the diary.
After all, Riddle eventually emerged from the diary at the end of the novel.
Albert threw the Lockhart hair he had collected earlier into a small cup of a syrup-like compound Polyjuice Potion. The hair hissed and bubbled as soon as it touched the potion.
A few seconds later, the potion turned a deep gold, like Lockhart's hair.
"I really hope this stuff tastes better," Albert muttered. Although he didn't have any expectations, he still drank the entire Polyjuice Potion in the cup in one gulp.
The taste of the Polyjuice Potion was really hard to describe; it was a bit like overcooked cabbage, making Albert feel like vomiting.
Damn it!
Albert coughed twice; he could feel the Polyjuice Potion taking effect.
After the Polyjuice Potion entered the stomach, a terrible burning sensation quickly spread from the stomach throughout the body, reaching the fingers, toes and even the whole body.
I could feel my internal organs churning. If I hadn't taken the Polyjuice Potion, I would have even suspected that I might have some serious illness and could have died on the spot at any moment.
Recommendation: People with serious illnesses should avoid using Polyjuice Potion to prevent the onset of symptoms during treatment.
Albert's mind was still quite resilient; at least after taking the Polyjuice Potion, he was still able to control the Quill next to him to record his feelings about taking the Polyjuice Potion in his diary.
Albert stood in front of the dressing mirror, looking up at himself. Due to the effects of the drug, he was panting heavily, his facial features writhing and Transfiguration like hot wax, looking incredibly bizarre and eerie.
It was a terrifying feeling, as if my entire body was melting like hot wax.
He watched helplessly as his hands began to grow larger, his fingers thicker, and his entire body swelled up due to the effects of the drug.
Fortunately, Albert had Transfiguration into a new robe beforehand, so the Polyjuice Potion didn't tear the clothes.
The Transfiguration lasted only a few seconds; it came suddenly and went quickly.
Standing in front of the full-length mirror, the person panting was no longer Albert, but Lockhart was dressed somewhat sloppily.
Everything stopped.
"I really don't know how Little Crouch has been taking Polyjuice Potion for more than half a year." Albert took a deep breath, looked at his body, and was still a little unaccustomed to it.
"As expected, wizards' endurance is extraordinary." He muttered, straightened his clothes slightly, and began to review the records of the Polyjuice Potion he had just taken, writing down some of his personal experiences.
After Albert, he went to the box where the diary was placed. It was a box made of Dragon Hide, which could effectively block magic.
Inside the Dragon Hide box was a Wooden Box made of the Guardian Tree, which Albert had cast with strong Protective Magic. It could effectively block Dark Magic, and even Detection Device could not detect any traces of Dark Magic inside.
As for whether these protections can effectively prevent the infiltration of Horcrux, Albert didn't really know, but even with these protections, he wouldn't want to carry Horcrux with him.
The Third Floor was a box made by Nicolas Flamel. After Albert opened the box, he used a magical control glove to take the diary out of the metal box.
He certainly wouldn't touch the Horcrux directly with his bare hands. Even though he was wearing Dragonhide Gloves, Albert didn't intend to touch the Horcrux directly to avoid being affected by Horcrux.
Although doing so should prevent him from being controlled by the Horcrux, Albert still didn't want to take the risk.
After placing Tom Riddle's Diary on the table, Albert took out the various types of Dark Magic Detector that the House-elf had purchased.
First was the Peeping Mirror, a Dark Magic Detector that looked like a glass gyroscope. When Albert placed it next to the diary, it didn't light up or spin, which meant there were no suspicious people around.
The Peeping Mirror is not reacting to the Horcrux.
The Quill wrote this sentence in the diary.
[As expected, Tom Riddle's Horcrux cannot be considered human, so the Peeping Mirror did not react, which also explains why the Traces Charm did not work on Tom.]
Next, Albert took a long, thin golden Detection Device and poked it into Tom's Diary. The Honesty Detector generated a certain attraction even without touching the diary, and its tip emitted a faint light.
The Honesty Detector reacted, proving that the diary was indeed enchanted.
Then there's the Detection Device. Unlike the Honesty Detector, which is used to detect hidden spells and concealed magical objects, the Detection Device is an auxiliary tool used by the Ministry of Magic to detect Dark Magic items. As soon as the Detection Device touches a Dark Magic item, it will immediately emit a buzzing alarm.
The Detection Device reacted, proving that the item in the diary was indeed a Dark Magic item.
[Routine tests have been conducted on Tom's Diary; it is currently unknown whether the Tom Riddle character within the diary can perceive the outside world.]
In the end of the novel, Riddle becomes so powerful that he can appear outside the diary and even use a wand like a physical being. He doesn't know what situation Riddle in the diary is in now, but he has to be on guard.
Next, he began to drip ink onto the diary. The Ink shimmered brightly on the paper for a second, then seemed to be absorbed into the paper and disappeared without a trace.
Albert, instead of writing in his diary, continued writing on the page where water was dripping.
However, this time it was just ordinary water droplets, and surprisingly, the water droplets weren't absorbed by the diary; instead, they soaked it.
[Tom Riddle's Diary got wet; does that mean it can be ignited?]
Albert began trying to control the glove to tear a page from the diary, but failed. Even when he finally used the Cutting Curse, he could not damage the diary.
As he remembered, the Horcrux was protected by powerful magic and could not be destroyed at will.
But... why did the diary get wet?
This is unreasonable?
Is it possible to soak the diary until it's mushy and then tear the pages out?
After considering it, Albert wrote down the idea and planned to test it another day.
He now leaves a single page of his diary exposed, making him look like a prisoner about to have his head chopped off.
"The Incendio."
Albert raised his wand and tried to burn the page. Incendio rose up, but quickly went out, causing no damage to the diary.
Next, I tried using a regular flame, but it still didn't work.
[Flames cannot damage Horcrux. (Fiendfyre could be considered.)]
After a simple test, there was still no sign of Tom Riddle appearing.
[Perhaps we could consider threatening to throw his diary into the cesspool to see if that would force him to reveal it.]
"That's what he wrote in his Experiment Diary, but that line was quickly crossed out: 'Never mind, after all, we're going to try to communicate with Tom next, it wouldn't be good if he got all smelly.'"
"Hello, Tom."
The Quill wrote according to Albert's wishes.
The text flashed on the paper, then was absorbed without leaving a trace.
However, the diary did not show any other reaction.
"Oh dear! Has it become wary of me?" Albert narrowed his eyes and said, "This won't do."
