"What's its name?" Albert finished the sandwich in his hand, then reached out and gently rubbed the hound's head as he asked.
"Fang," Hagrid answered instinctively.
"Fang? That name makes this big dog seem a lot less imposing. How about Spike instead?" Albert casually gave Fang a new name.
"I think Fang is a pretty good name." Hagrid stopped cleaning the Mink Pelt and shook his head, refusing Albert's kind offer.
"My name is Albert Anderson. Are you a professor at Hogwarts too?" Albert asked, though he already knew the answer.
"No, I'm the Keeper of the Hunting Grounds." Hagrid shook his head again.
"Does the Hunting Grounds mean those woods over there?" Albert raised a hand and pointed toward the Forbidden Forest. Without waiting for Hagrid to answer, he continued, "I heard there are werewolves in the woods. Is that true?"
"Are you a Ravenclaw student?" Hagrid asked uncertainly.
Albert glanced sideways at the three snickering behind him and replied, "No, we're all Gryffindor students."
"Oh, Gryffindor students." Hagrid suddenly became serious. "I won't let you into the woods..."
"Ahem, Albert, how did you know that dog would let you rub its head? It seemed pretty fierce just now." George hurriedly changed the subject.
The three of them all crowded over and began rubbing Fang's head.
"Instinct, I suppose. I have a cat myself, but I just didn't bring it to school." Albert casually made up an excuse. "By the way, Mr. Keeper of the Hunting Grounds, you wouldn't mind letting me take a photo of you someday, would you?"
"You can call me Hagrid." Hagrid did not refuse. He had merely been reminded of something from the past.
"Mm, Mr. Hagrid. All right, Hagrid..." Albert quietly drew their relationship closer.
