Grindylow Counterattack. "Will this really work?"
Moaning Myrtle happily "swam" beside Albert. It would have been even better if they had not been driven out of the Mermen Village so quickly.
"This time, it's all thanks to Myrtle. We won't have to worry about getting lost during the Second Task."
Albert was in fairly good spirits, though he felt a little cold. The Warming Charm was not particularly effective. Logically, if the lake surface froze in winter, the temperature at the bottom ought to be around four degrees Celsius. That was far from warm.

Moaning Myrtle giggled. She seemed to enjoy being thanked, especially by someone who was her type.
Just as the three of them and one ghost prepared to return to the surface, Albert sensed something. He glanced at the Detection Bracelet on his left wrist, which was faintly warm. It seemed some Dark Creatures were approaching them.

Albert narrowed his eyes and turned to stare into the dim, shadowy water below. The jungle of dark green aquatic plants deeper down gave him an oppressive feeling.
"What's wrong?"
Myrtle noticed Albert turning around. She followed his gaze and asked in confusion.
Albert took out his wand and gave it a light flick. A ball of light flew from its tip and suddenly blossomed beneath the lake, instantly dispelling the darkness around them.
When Fred and George saw what Albert had done, they too realized something was wrong. They drew their wands and watched below warily. They soon found out why.
"Bloody hell!"
"Damn it, did we poke a Grindylow nest?"
