Spoiled Young Lady
After a brief rest, the Team Cheng continued its journey and finally arrived at Tongda Town before sunset.
This is a picturesque town with a population of over 50,000. In such a medieval feudal world, such a scale makes it more like a bustling city-state than a small town. The houses in the town are arranged in a neat and orderly manner, and several main streets Crisscross the town. Shops line the streets, and the people coming and going include local residents as well as passing merchants, making it a lively and bustling place.
Such a scene is thanks to the excellent geographical location of Tongda Town.
The Central Plains region of the [Martial World] world is a vast plain covering thousands of miles. However, in this vast plain, there is a mountain range Crisscross hundreds of miles, known as the Central Province Mountain Range. It is like an isolated island in a vast ocean, dividing the Central Plains region into a huge ring.
Tongda Town is located in the very center of the Central Province Mountain Range, and it is connected to a valley in the Southwestern Branch, and north. From the air, it looks as if a cross has been drawn in the mountains, and Tongda Town is at the center of this cross.
All four valleys wind their way out of the mountains, connecting smoothly with the plains to the outside world. The Central Province Mountain Range, however, are not of a regular shape; each of their four corners extends outwards to varying degrees, subtly connecting with other famous mountains and rivers in the Central Plains, dividing the plains into several large sections. This meant that merchants traveling from Southwestern Branch, who did not want to travel thousands of miles through the vast mountains, had no choice but to pass through the valleys, inevitably passing through this area. This made the town a vital transportation hub, hence the name Tongda Town (meaning "reaching through the mountains").
The Hundred Rivers Sect was located deep in the Deep Mountains about 50 miles from Tongda Town. To leave the sect, one had to pass through Tongda Town first, and the exchanges were very frequent. As the sect grew, this area became the Hundred Rivers Sect's sphere of influence.
As Li Xinyu had said before, many of the businesses in Tongda Town were operated by the Hundred Rivers Sect, including the town's largest and most luxurious inn.
The sect had made prior arrangements that no outside guests would be received tonight; the training team would be specially welcomed. The carriages and horses were taken to the backyard to rest and feed the animals, and the team was escorted to the Guest Room, which resembled the dormitory of the Ningdong Academy.
The students, new to the Martial World world, were excited to stay in an inn that seemed straight out of a period drama. However, for Lu Fei, a seasoned veteran who had previously participated in internships, this was basically the only place he passed through when leaving the sect, and there was nothing new about it.
"Newcomers to Entry Level [Savage Wilderness] will have their room and board provided for a month," Xu Yiming explained some of the rules and regulations of the Wildlands Hunter Guild. Zhao Jian, who was standing to the side, couldn't wait any longer and slammed his hand on the table. "That's not important. What's important is who we meet and who we'll be roommates with?"
"Dormitory?" Luo Jun blinked, asking innocently, "[Savage Wilderness] requires dormitories?"
"You have such a great attitude!" Zhao Jian gave him a thumbs up. "I'm only at the fourth level of the Foundation Establishment Realm, and I was terrified the whole way..."
Luo Jun naturally sat at the same table as Lu Fei. Besides the two of them, Lu Fei also invited two other classmates to join them. Luo Jun glanced at them and thought, "Wow, they're practically acquaintances."
At the fourth level of the Foundation Establishment Realm, he was among the lowest tier of interns, but thanks to the experience and skills he gained in the Savage Wilderness, he still managed to defeat many competitors and secure an internship.
"You've been to the [Savage Wilderness]?" Luo Jun asked, feigning surprise.
Located in the mountains, the air here is humid. Although the place is not open to the public today, the main door is still open for ventilation, but there is a sign that says it is full. Most guests passing by who are looking for lodging see the sign and leave. If someone doesn't notice, the owner and the waiter patiently explain and advise them to go somewhere else.
"More than just going there!" Zhao Jian immediately perked up at the mention of this. "You'd never guess who we shared a dorm room with there!"
As for the chubby Zhu Da, he wasn't so lucky. He failed when he went from the second to the third level and is currently in seclusion, recuperating at the academy...
After assigning rooms, Teacher Tie invited everyone out for dinner. The inn lobby was instantly filled with people. Looking at the sumptuous dishes on the table, the students' mouths watered, and they immediately began to eat heartily.
As he spoke, he put one leg on the bench, glanced at Luo Jun and Lu Fei, and even raised his eyebrows in a slightly provocative manner.
Lu Fei naturally couldn't guess. "Stop keeping me in suspense. I've never been to the [Savage Wilderness]. The only people I know are the big shots, but whether they're Champion-level hunters or members of the Ling Family, they wouldn't be staying in the newbie dorms, would they?"
"Recently rising to prominence?" Lu Fei frowned slightly. "Could it be...?"
These two had already reached the second level of the Foundation Establishment Realm back in July when they were in the Savage Wilderness, which was a bottleneck at the time. They broke through to the third level while purifying themselves on Lingyun Island. After more than two months of training, they reached the fourth level. This time, in order to obtain an internship spot, they gritted their teeth and tried to break through, and unexpectedly, they both succeeded. They were quite lucky.
"That's it! Could it be?!" Zhao Jian slammed his hand on the table. "We're roommates with 'Night'! He even treated us to dinner!"
"Brother, aren't you afraid to come to this Body Refinement Realm for Otherworld Internship at the Foundation Establishment Realm?" The one who asked the question was a dark-skinned, muscular young man, Zhao Jian, who was Luo Jun's former roommate in the Savage Wilderness. Next to him sat the tall and thin Xu Yiming, but the chubby Zhu Da was nowhere to be seen; he probably failed the test.
"Don't make fun of me..." Zhao Jian waved his hand, "I was turning fear into strength... But after killing an enemy, I did feel much more at ease. I'm so glad I adapted so quickly, thanks to my training in the Savage Wilderness!"
"How come I didn't notice?" Xu Yiming laughed. "Weren't you shouting quite loudly when we were killing the bandits?"
"Think about it again!" Zhao Jian persisted, "Isn't there a big shot who has suddenly risen to prominence in the [Savage Wilderness] in the last few months?"
"What's the use of being afraid?" Luo Jun picked up a piece of food and said, "We can't just throw away this internship opportunity that we finally got, can we?"
Luo Jun had just taken a sip of soup when he almost spat it out.
Inviting you to dinner? You were the ones who were greedy and stole the leftovers I packed up, weren't you?
"It really is him?" Hearing Ye's name, Lu Fei's interest was piqued, and he looked at Xu Yiming: "Have you met him in person?"
"Absolutely genuine!" Xu Yiming nodded.
"Is it true that he's Peak Expert, as rumored online?" Lu Fei asked.
"We didn't see his strength..." Xu Yiming shook his head. "But it's true that the second-in-command of the Frost Moon Troupe personally went to invite him; we were there."
Is he really as young as the rumors suggest?
"Judging from the half of his face that's showing, he should be around our age," Xu Yiming nodded. "If he hasn't changed his appearance."
"That's truly a rare and exceptional genius!" Lu Fei exclaimed longingly. "I wish I could experience his amazing skills firsthand..."
"I think what's being said online is exaggerated..." Luo Jun waved his hand and said, "Where would you find so many super geniuses..."
"It's true!" Zhao Jian insisted. "Let me tell you, the aura of that kind of big shot is absolutely different from that of ordinary people! Let me put it this way, if you and he both stood together with your faces covered, I could tell at a glance who the expert was!"
"Okay, okay... I believe you." Luo Jun forced a smile and said perfunctorily.
As the group was chatting and laughing, suddenly, a quarrel broke out at the entrance of the inn.
"I said, why won't you let us stay at the inn?" a young woman in yellow carrying a sword shouted at the door.
"Miss, we have a sign at the door that says we are fully booked for today..." the innkeeper said with a smile.
"What nonsense are you talking about?" The girl pulled the shopkeeper outside. "Look at what's written here for yourself!"
The shopkeeper noticed that the sign that had originally said "Full" had been turned over at some point, and the back read "Welcome"...
"Oh dear, I'm so sorry, perhaps someone's child was being naughty..." the innkeeper hurriedly apologized. "But as you can see, we are indeed fully booked today... Why don't you try looking at other inns?"
"No way!" the girl said stubbornly. "We always stay here when we come to Tongda Town. Other inns either have rooms that are too small or smell like livestock. I don't like staying here!"
"But miss, we really don't have any rooms available..."
The girl looked at the people eating inside and said, "How about we ask one of them to vacate a room, and I'll pay double the price!"
"It's not about the price..." The innkeeper was in a dilemma. This inn was originally owned by the Hundred Rivers Sect. Today's private booking was arranged by their superiors, but they had also instructed that the whereabouts of the escort team could not be revealed to the outside world, so he really couldn't explain it.
"Forget it, Ying Er..." At this moment, a woman in a green robe carrying a sword walked in from outside. Her appearance was exquisitely beautiful. She pulled the girl in yellow from before and said, "Have you forgotten what Master told us before we left? Don't cause trouble. Let's find somewhere else to stay. It seems the other Senior Brother have already found a place..."
As she spoke, she nodded to the shopkeeper, "I'm sorry, my junior sister is a bit rude, she's disturbing us."
"Senior Sister!" Ying Er pouted, "I don't want to live in those crowded and smelly places, I want to stay here!" Saying this, she pulled out a piece of silver and shouted into the lobby, "Whoever is willing to give up their room, this silver is theirs!"
This scene left the students at lunch looking at each other in bewilderment, some not knowing whether to laugh or cry, and some even scoffing.
"Wow, there really are unreasonable young ladies like this..." Zhao Jian chuckled softly. "I thought they were just made up in period dramas..."
"You'd better keep quiet, don't let anyone hear you..." Xu Yiming nudged him quietly, "What if they keep an eye on you and insist on changing your room... right, Luo Jun?"
Xu Yiming asked casually, but Luo Jun didn't respond. He looked up and saw that Luo Jun, who was sitting opposite him, was staring blankly at the door with a complicated look in his eyes.
What was he looking at? Xu Yiming turned around and wondered if this junior had taken a liking to that arrogant young lady.
It was her?
Luo Jun paid no attention to the arrogant girl in yellow. His gaze fell on the senior sister in green. He had not only seen this woman before, but had also fought with her and even "killed" her with his own hands.
The Miracle Chess Game that day, the strongest piece projected by the Red Side...
