Seeing the change in the magic array, everyone immediately became alert. Then they felt a terrifying presence coming from beyond the door behind them.

"Everyone, get ready!" Golden Rose shouted. The group immediately turned to defend themselves, but before they could take up their positions, a thick cloud of black smoke flew in through the doorway and sprayed them full in the face before they could react...

Mu Lanshi turned around and saw the black smoke surge into the magic array, instantly forming a black whirlwind that was absorbed by one of the dim gemstones. Once all the black smoke had been absorbed, the gemstone began to radiate dazzling light, and part of the array's circuits lit up as well...

"This is..." Everyone immediately understood. The black smoke was the key to charging the magic array, and it felt strangely familiar to them. It seemed to be...

"It's those pirates!" Mu Lanshi realized. "When we defeated the Third Fleet, the pirates' ghosts turned into this black smoke and flew off somewhere. So they came here!"

"The Pirate Gang has seven squads in total..." The red-robed mage understood as well. "There are seven gemstones here. When we arrived, the seventh through third squads had already been wiped out, leaving only the first and second squads. That's why five of the seven gemstones were lit, with two still dark. Now another one has lit up, which means another squad has been defeated!"

"So if all the Pirate Ghosts from all seven squads are wiped out, every gemstone will light up?" Mu Lanshi frowned
