The gate stood five or six stories tall. Two towering turrets on either side served as gateposts, while the central gate consisted of silver railings adorned with lavish, intricate patterns. The surrounding walls were at least three stories high as well, fitted with numerous pieces of City Defense Equipment that released bursts of steam as they operated.
These castle-like defenses ostensibly existed to prevent theft, but Luo Jun had already heard Olysis explain that their true purpose was to keep the things inside from getting out. As for that seemingly flimsy openwork gate, its patterns were not merely decorative. They all contained powerful magic, and should anything go wrong, they could link with the surrounding walls to immediately form a massive protective barrier around the entire museum. "In fact, even the Empress's palace doesn't have gates this grand or walls this high." As Osiris introduced the place, he made a welcoming gesture. "Let's go inside and take a look."
The museum was currently open, and its gates stood wide. They could see the enormous courtyard within, with artistic fountains and other scenery. At its center stood a huge, uniquely shaped building.
At the center of that structure was a massive hemispherical hall, over thirty meters at its highest point. Even amid the high-rises of the Imperial Capital, it looked especially imposing. Four rectangular buildings surrounded the hemispherical hall, each roughly twenty meters tall and divided into three floors. They connected to the central dome, and from high above, the entire complex resembled a gigantic cross lying on the ground.
