Two guards in Holy See uniforms stood before the heavy iron door. Osiris stepped forward to speak with them. The two guards took out their keys and inserted them into the keyholes on either side of the door. On a coordinated count of three, two, one, they turned them simultaneously. With a hiss, four jets of steam burst from the great door, which slowly opened. Osiris led Luo Jun inside and found a corridor more than ten meters long, with another iron door at the far end.
The two guards followed them in. After closing the first door, they worked together to open the second. At last, an enclosed Secret Chamber appeared before Luo Jun.
It was a square room containing five artifacts.
At the very center stood an ancient, realistic marble statue, roughly five meters tall. It depicted an angel with wings on its back. Though completely naked, it possessed no secondary sexual characteristics, and neither its face nor physique revealed whether it was male or female. Although weathering had damaged some of the finer details, its overall structure remained intact and lifelike. Quite a few talismans and scriptures had been pasted across its body, seemingly forming some sort of seal.
To the left of the statue, inside an ornate display case, lay a spear. It was impossible to tell what kind of wood the shaft was made from. It was wrapped in animal hide, with obvious cracks running through the middle. Gems decorated the butt end, while the spearhead was chipped from obsidian, its edges lined with sharp serrations that gave off a faint Green Light beneath the lamps. Judging by its design, it seemed to have come from some primitive tribe.
Beside the spear stood another rack, upon which rested a skull made of crystal, the same
