Background / History
Lan Shi'er is the daughter of the Azure King and carries both the Lan Clan and Bai Family bloodlines. Regarded as talentless because her bloodline had not awakened, she was sent away to Kunpeng Island and received little affection from her father or the Lan Clan elders. Her mother was murdered, while her father did not act on her behalf. 1354 1453 1462 1516
While travelling with her aunt, Bai Jingqiu, Lan Shi'er finds Jiang Ping An unconscious and badly injured at sea. Despite Bai Jingqiu’s warnings, she insists on saving him, beginning the relationship that shapes much of her later growth. 1348
She appoints Jiang Ping An as her practical-combat sparring partner on Kunpeng Island. His blunt criticism initially drives her to tears, but his insistence that effort can compensate for poor combat talent changes her outlook. She trains relentlessly for two months and defeats Lan QiMing during her Island Lord handover ceremony, establishing her authority before Kunpeng Island’s factions. 1351 1354 1356 1358
Her succession does not end the opposition to her rule. Lan FengCheng supplies Wei QingXing with Immortal Dissolving Water to cripple her, but Jiang Ping An detects the poisoned fruit soup and devises a bluff that exposes Wei QingXing. Jiang Ping An subsequently intervenes against Wei QingXing’s attempted assassination. Lan Shi'er rewards him and later arranges for him to participate in the competition connected to the Kunpeng Secret Realm. 1359 1364 1365 1371 1374
Bai Jingqiu uses the Three-Colored Fairy’s Creation Power to reconstruct Lan Shi'er's talent. Her Bai Family and Lan Clan bloodlines gradually awaken, transforming her from an underestimated Heavenly Immortal into a rapidly advancing genius. 1419 1423 1452
Lan Shi'er initially suppresses her ability to enter the God Realm because a complete awakening would alert the Lan Clan and end her peaceful life away from its political struggles. She later breaks through while attempting to save Jiang Ping An from Ge Yuze. Her complete awakening draws the attention of the Lan Clan, forcing her to return to the Inner Sea despite her reluctance to leave Jiang Ping An behind. 1485 1514 1516 1518
After returning to the Lan Clan Royal Family, she builds influence in Blue Sea Country, serves on the front lines, and begins openly retaliating against factions that seek to restrain her. Jiang Ping An later publicly supports her, helping her attract potential followers despite the hostility of the royal family’s senior factions. 1715 1745 1764
Her actions against the Luo Family and the destruction of the Dong Family earn her a reputation for ruthlessness and qualities associated with rulership, prompting some families to offer goodwill secretly. However, the underlying schemes are Jiang Ping An’s work rather than plans devised by Lan Shi'er herself. 1760 1761 1786 1787
Although she dislikes the imperial capital, she agrees to return there because its defenses offer Jiang Ping An better protection from assassins. She later helps conceal his survival by convincingly pretending to mourn his death and announcing three years of seclusion. Afterward, they maintain the appearance of ordinary friendship in public while continuing to meet privately. 1886 1888 1901 1920
After her victory against the Wildsea Royal Clan, reports emerge that a woman carrying both the Bai Family sealing art and Lan Clan bloodline was attacked by powerful experts in Eternal Sleep Swamp. Lan Shi'er later returns to Jiang Ping An’s side and resumes training and daily life with him, Bai Jingqiu, and Tuanzi. 2112 2142 2154
By this later period, the Azure King has died in battle. His death removes the protection he previously provided against hostile members of the royal family, leaving Lan Shi'er unable to rely on its senior experts for assistance. During the subsequent peaceful period with Jiang Ping An, she begins learning musical instruments. 2127 2154
Appearance
Lan Shi'er is a blue-haired cultivator whose appearance matures noticeably as her bloodlines awaken. At eighteen, she is described as graceful and poised, with an aura that already suggests future godhood. 1458
- Long, flowing blue or azure hair. 1458 1760
- Large, watery eyes and a youthful, expressive face in her earlier appearances. 1348 1462
- Often wears blue, aqua-blue, or moon-blue robes and dresses. 1746 1760 1831
- Also wears a white combat uniform during early training and a neat black battle suit when preparing to enter the Kunpeng Secret Realm. 1355 1375
- Her mature aura and beauty draw frequent attention from other Immortals, which she generally rejects. 1458
- During combat, Law Power and divine runes may gather around her body. 1458 1983
- During her God Realm breakthrough, her hair lengthens to her hips and sparkles with starlight, while blue and white divine patterns merge with her body. 1515
- Following her years in the Royal Secret Realm, her blue hair is sometimes elegantly coiled, and her appearance carries a more mature charm while retaining her familiar youthful sweetness around Jiang Ping An. 1982
Personality
Lan Shi'er begins as compassionate, playful, and emotionally vulnerable. She risks Bai Jingqiu’s disapproval to save an unknown injured man and is initially deeply affected by criticism or injury in combat. 1348 1354
Jiang Ping An’s guidance makes her more resilient and independent. She gradually rejects the Lan Clan’s standards for her worth, learns to distrust transactional kindness, and refuses to let her family’s earlier neglect define her. 1354 1463 1465
Despite her growth into a decisive and intimidating combatant, she remains affectionate and childlike around people she trusts—especially Jiang Ping An, whom she calls “Uncle” and “Smelly Uncle.” She is fiercely protective of him, repeatedly confronting those who threaten or undermine him. 1494 1510 1926
- Rejects unwanted favors and suitors rather than incur obligations. 1463 1487
- Values freedom and refuses political marriage arrangements she did not choose. 1747
- Holds lasting resentment toward relatives who ignored her before her bloodline awakened. 1516
- Is capable of calculated deception and participates in retaliation against hostile factions, though Jiang Ping An devises the schemes against the Luo and Dong Families for which she receives public credit. 1764 1786 1787 1888
- Refuses to abandon Jiang Ping An even when his realm and status appear far below hers, crediting much of her survival, combat ability, and restored talent to him. 1715
- Aspires to become a Lord God so that no one will be able to threaten Jiang Ping An. 1926
- Continues difficult combat training even without Jiang Ping An present, asking a maid to increase her combat power despite the risk of injury. 1371
- Enjoys hearing Jiang Ping An’s life stories and exchanges a valuable God-level Enlightenment Pill for time with him. 1442 1456 1518
- Prioritizes Jiang Ping An’s safety over her dislike of the imperial capital and her resentment toward her father. 1886 2016
- Conceals dangerous or unpleasant experiences when speaking with Jiang Ping An so as not to worry him; he likewise omits the most dangerous parts of his own experiences. 1920
Abilities & Skills
God Seal
The Bai Family’s Innate Divine Power manifests as sealing chains and runes that suppress an opponent’s origin and divine power.
- Seals opponents with white or silver-white chains. 1485 1494 1760
- Uses white runes on her hand to activate the ability during the Sea Spirit Hall campaign. 1457
- Seals five Golden Immortal pirates in succession, allowing allied Golden Immortals to kill them; this nearly exhausts her Immortal Power. 1458
- Restrained and injured Xu Qinglan after he sabotaged Jiang Ping An’s artifact forging. 1494
- Immediately after becoming a god, seals God Enlightenment Realm Peak expert Ge Yuze for at most the time it takes an incense stick to burn, giving Jiang Ping An an opportunity to kill him. 1515
- Sealed First Level God King Zhuo Ang so completely that he could not mobilize divine power. 1760
- Can be used to place a self-destructive Death Seal on memories; Lan Shi'er used one to hide the details of Jiang Ping An strengthening her. 1747
- Her memory seal would shatter her soul and kill her if someone tried to forcibly lift it, preventing the strengthening method from being exposed through investigation of her memories. 1747
- Jiang Ping An’s Yin Yang Origin can break her seals. 1485
- After her Heaven Mending Art strengthening, she believes that her God Seal can restrain a Third Level God King despite her baseline cultivation being only at the First Level God King stage. 1747
- According to Lan Shi'er, the ability can eventually seal nearly anything, including space and time; this is described as its potential rather than a demonstrated feat at that stage. 1458
Limit Break
The Lan Clan Royal Family’s Innate Divine Power forcibly raises her cultivation realm through her bloodline.
- Activates alongside God Seal in decisive combat. 1983
- Greatly elevates her battle power beyond her normal realm. 1549 1983
- Its quality is enhanced by her status as the Azure King’s daughter and by the restoration of her Lan Clan bloodline. 1514 1760
- Initially raises her cultivation by a minor realm during her battle against Ge Yuze; following her strengthening, it can raise her from First Level God King to Second Level God King and nearly Third Level God King. 1515 1747
- Its amplification increases with the purity of the Lan Clan bloodline. During the Ge Yuze battle, the increase to God Enlightenment Realm Middle Stage carries no particularly great cost, though combining it with God Seal exhausts her Divine Power. 1515
- Unlike the Lan Clan’s corresponding supporting secret art, her strengthened innate ability does not require the bodily damage associated with that art. Excessive use of the supporting art can cause permanent harm. 1747
Dual Bloodline Awakening
Lan Shi'er possesses the bloodlines of both the Bai Family and Lan Clan, though they were initially dormant or defective.
- Her talent reconstruction awakens the Bai Family Bloodline and restores the Lan Clan Bloodline. 1452
- Her God Realm breakthrough produces a phenomenon recognized by Lan Clan members across Thousand Sails Tomb. 1514
- Absorbing the remaining Creation Power during her breakthrough produces both blue and white divine patterns, reflecting the awakening of her two inherited talents. 1515
- Her complete awakening makes her a political threat to Lan Clan factions that previously dismissed her. 1516 1764
- Her high-grade bloodline also makes her vulnerable to outsiders seeking to seize it or exploit her to produce descendants, a danger Jiang Ping An considers while she is away from him. 2075
Swordsmanship and Practical Combat
Lan Shi'er’s combat ability is built through repeated sparring, harsh endurance training, and Jiang Ping An’s battlefield-oriented instruction.
- Uses the Azure Dragon Sword Art in battle. 1358
- Defeated Lan QiMing at the Kunpeng Island handover ceremony despite suffering injuries during the duel. 1358
- Uses sword attacks as feints for close-range strikes, maintaining pressure so that her opponent cannot establish a counterattack. 1358
- Learns to remain composed through pain and avoid letting injuries disrupt her fighting rhythm. 1358
- Continues training against a maid whose cultivation is suppressed to her level, then requests progressively stronger opposition. 1371
- Learns to anticipate sudden attacks and remain wary of an opponent even outside formal combat. 1384
- By the return from an early pirate-hunting expedition, her combat ability is outstanding among cultivators of the same realm, though endurance remains a weakness. 1389
- By the Sea Spirit Hall campaign, she can subdue five Golden Immortal pirates through successive seals, though doing so nearly exhausts her power and allied cultivators deliver the killing blows. 1458
- Wins a deathmatch for Blue Sea Country by combining God Seal and Limit Break against a Wildsea Royal Clan God King. 1983
- Continues to spar with Jiang Ping An after returning from Eternal Sleep Swamp, though his later strength allows him to defeat her until she loses consciousness. 2142
Heaven Mending Art Enhancements
Jiang Ping An repeatedly strengthens Lan Shi'er through the Heaven Mending Art, improving both her talent and foundation.
- By the completion of the strengthening process in Chapter 1747, she has undergone five rounds of strengthening, dramatically raising both bloodline quality and talent. 1747
- The first enhancement consumes divine power equivalent to five enhancements of Jiang Ping An himself; the cultivation chamber supplies the power, and the full process takes several months. 1747
- She protects the details by sealing the relevant memories with a Death Seal. 1747
- Has received six rounds of strengthening by the time of her match against the Wildsea Royal Clan. 1983
- Jiang Ping An performs the sixth enhancement after learning that the upcoming contest is a deathmatch, specifically to improve her chances of survival. 1983
- Her six strengthened foundations, combined with her dual bloodlines, allow her to contend with a Third Level God King and potentially avoid immediate defeat against an ordinary Fourth Level God King. 1983
Disguise and Deception
- Can change her appearance and clothing, transforming into a mature woman when Jiang Ping An warns her that their companions may be compromised. 1511
- Convincingly feigns grief over Jiang Ping An’s supposed death, initially deceiving even Long Ya, before revealing the performance privately behind an isolation barrier. 1888
- Helps maintain his concealed identity by treating him as an ordinary acquaintance in public after their staged reintroduction. 1901
Musical Study
- Begins learning musical instruments during the peaceful period after returning to Jiang Ping An’s side. No specific instrument or level of mastery is stated. 2154
Relationships
- Jiang Ping An — Rescued by Lan Shi'er when he was unconscious at sea; later becomes her sparring partner, mentor, protector, and closest confidant. She consistently calls him “Uncle” or “Smelly Uncle,” trusts his judgment, and fiercely defends him. They repeatedly reunite after periods of separation, and she later returns to his side following the Eternal Sleep Swamp incident. 1348 1354 1494 1745 2142 2154
- Initially addresses him as “Big Brother” before adopting her familiar “Uncle” nicknames. 1354 1355 1363
- Shows increasing affection and shyness around him, but denies that he is her lover when others describe him that way. 1463 1708 1831 1982

- Leaves “Drink less—signed Shi'er” on his Wine Gourd before their departure from one another. 1518
- Helps conceal his survival and later kneels before her father to request his rescue from the Electric Eel Demon Race’s territory. 1888 2016
- Bai Jingqiu — Her aunt and guardian. Bai Jingqiu initially distrusts Jiang Ping An but later recognizes his contributions to Lan Shi'er’s combat ability, survival, and restored talent. 1351 1423 1517
- Azure King — Her father and one of the Nine Great Experts. Lan Shi'er resents his neglect during her childhood and his political refusal to aid Jiang Ping An. 1354 1516 2016
- After her restoration, he values her talent, and reports describe him as personally guiding her cultivation. 1629 1983
- Refuses her plea to rescue Jiang Ping An, citing political circumstances and his injuries, while also intending that suffering drive her growth. 2016
- Dies in battle by the later period, removing his restraint on royal-family members who might otherwise target her. 2127
- Lan Xuanhe — Her elder brother and a hostile senior member of the royal family. He fears that her rise will threaten his faction’s resources, recognizes the Luo Family investigation as retaliation, and later considers eliminating her despite their kinship. 1764 1786
- Long Ya — Close companion and friend who knows of Lan Shi'er’s attachment to “Smelly Uncle.” Their friendship is complicated by Long Ya’s jealousy over that attachment. 1708 1714 1831
- Wants to support Lan Shi'er, though her father initially opposes involving the Dragon Family in the royal-family struggle. 1731
- Accompanies her to the imperial capital and is initially deceived by her performance of grief over Jiang Ping An’s supposed death. 1886 1888
- Tuanzi — A close companion who spends years with Lan Shi'er in the Royal Secret Realm and reunites with Jiang Ping An alongside her. 1982
- Keeps Jiang Ping An informed of her concern for him and later brings her news of his predicament in the Electric Eel Demon Race’s territory. 1831 2016
- Xu Qinglan — A hostile suitor from the Godship Remnant Clan. Lan Shi'er repeatedly rejects him, eventually seals and injures him for sabotaging Jiang Ping An. 1463 1487 1494
- His clan seeks her bloodline to improve its descendants. He later falsely claims to have killed her, provoking Jiang Ping An’s retaliation. 1462 1502 1510
- Lan Huaichuan — Lan Clan official responsible for the Thousand Sails Tomb region. He approaches Lan Shi'er after her bloodline restoration and later assists with arrangements for her return to the Inner Sea. 1516
- She distrusts his sudden deference because he ignored her while she was powerless, but asks him to protect and reward Jiang Ping An. His association with her later causes hostile factions to interfere with his Life Essence Pill allocation. 1516 1646
- Lan FengCheng — Former Island Lord of Kunpeng Island who attempts to undermine her succession through his son’s public challenge. 1357 1358
- Lan QiMing — Lan FengCheng’s son, whom Lan Shi'er defeats at the Kunpeng Island handover ceremony. 1358
- Wei QingXing — An Immortal Lord and former sparring instructor who seeks to exploit her for cultivation resources. After Jiang Ping An displaces him as her principal practical-combat teacher, he participates in the poisoning plot and attempts to assassinate her. 1354 1359 1364 1365
- Ye Cangchuan — Prince of Burning Sea Country whom the Lan Clan’s senior factions propose as her partner in a political marriage. Lan Shi'er rejects the arrangement, states that she never consented to it, and refuses to meet him when he comes to Blue Sea Country. 1747
