Xenomorph Blood Is Blood Too!
The first time people saw Xenomorph eggs, they would more or less feel psychologically uncomfortable.
But it was not Duva's first time seeing them. Not only was he unafraid, he even stepped forward with a grin and reached out to stroke them, feeling the pulses of life coming from each egg.
That was right. From the moment every Xenomorph was born, it established a psychic connection with him.
Normally, within the Xenomorph species, only the Xenomorph Queen was born with the authority to command all her kin. Even newly born Facehuggers were subject to her absolute control by nature. It was something engraved into Xenomorph genes.
"Absolute authority... From my experiments, even the Queen is beneath me."
Duva looked at the Xenomorph beside him.
A normal Xenomorph's skull was generally smooth and elongated, but this Xenomorph's skull bore a crown that proclaimed her authority and status.
The Queen.
Within the colony, only one Xenomorph could lay eggs. That Xenomorph was the Queen.
"You worked hard. It took you so long to molt into a Queen, and then you painstakingly laid these five eggs." Duva smiled.
Xenomorphs had no gender. Once they lost their Queen or became isolated, they would follow their genetic instincts, unearth the hidden factors in their own gene chains, and spontaneously evolve into a Queen capable of laying eggs.
So Duva and this Xenomorph had kept a low profile for a long time. Only after she successfully evolved into a Queen and laid eggs did Duva finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Xenomorphs were creatures born for battle. They could parasitize anything without discrimination and be born with the host's finest genes, so theoretically, every Xenomorph was stronger than its host.
Five eggs would hatch into five Facehuggers, which would need to parasitize five creatures before evolving into adult Xenomorphs.
To be honest, for a moment, Duva had been tempted by Blade. That guy already counted as a superhuman individual. If he could capture him and use him as a host, the Xenomorph that burst from his chest would be incredibly powerful.
But Duva ultimately dismissed that wicked thought.
"Let's catch some cats and dogs to use as hosts first. At the very least, I need to build up my fighting strength."
Duva looked at the Queen, who was quietly awaiting his orders.
Honestly, compared to the various Queens in the movies, this one was pitifully small. He needed to buy a large amount of meat to feed her properly.
The small animals in the area suffered for it. For several days in a row, terrifying, agile figures appeared beneath the cover of night. Whenever a shadow flashed past, another life vanished.
At first, there had only been one shadow. But as time passed, their numbers grew.
The savage slaughter intensified. The blood of all kinds of animals splattered across the earth, eventually congealing into mottled black stains.
Until several police officers arrived after receiving reports.
"Chief, we've arrived. According to the caller, wild animals in this area have been disappearing in large numbers." A young officer complained. "There's endless work to do in New York City's busy districts. Why are we wasting precious time investigating a case in this godforsaken place? Just because those animal rights activists are hard to deal with?"
"Don't forget who we are." The more composed middle-aged officer, George Stacy, surveyed the surroundings.
Besides, the person who had reported this was not some so-called animal rights activist at all...
"Ever since that playboy calling himself Iron Man came back, we've had a lot more work."
"Wake up. At least this is better than staying in New York City, where troublesome people are always popping up."
"Yeah. At least they didn't send us after some idiot billionaire flying around in a suit of armor too."
George recalled the information he had learned some time ago and clicked his tongue inwardly.
Some news could not be made public, but as someone within the system, he knew certain inside details. He knew that the violent explosion at Stark Tower some time ago had been caused by two tin men beating each other up.
Judging from the outcome, the victor had undoubtedly been Tony Stark. The one who had been defeated must have been Obadiah, the vanished second-in-command of Stark Group.
After that incident, it seemed to have ignited some sensitive fuse. All kinds of cases kept cropping up, placing unprecedented pressure on them.
George shook off his thoughts and focused on his work. He put on gloves, took out his tools, and carefully collected every trace in the area.
"It really is too quiet. It's as though all the animals vanished overnight."
"There are scattered bloodstains on the ground. Someone attacked these animals."
George frowned. Blood—at the mention of it, an uneasy association rose in his mind.
They soon no longer needed to worry about that, because someone arrived.
"Gentlemen, what are you looking for?"
"Who's there? Let me see your hands!" Several police officers vigilantly drew their guns.
But instead of stopping, the man came closer still. Under the flashlight beams, rows of sharp teeth showed within his open mouth.
The officers immediately opened fire. The bullets struck the pale-faced man, leaving only several holes. In the blink of an eye, the wounds began to heal.
Even the bullets were squeezed out by the regenerating flesh.
Whoosh! The man moved. With a single leap, he crossed more than ten meters and sank his teeth into an officer's neck.
A vampire? That thought flashed through George's mind in an instant.
"Chief, there's more than one enemy!"
Several more figures with equally deathly pale skin emerged one after another, scrambling to pounce on the bitten officer and tear into him in huge mouthfuls.
The gruesome sight made the officers' scalps crawl. Even though they kept firing, they could not inflict fatal injuries.
The lead vampire wiped his mouth and looked at them with a teasing gaze, clearly sizing them up as a group of delicious meals.
"Looks like we weren't the only ones watching this place. Why were people from the New York Police Department showing up somewhere like this? I don't remember assigning you any operation like this," he asked.
"Pah, since when could vampires order us around?" George took a deep breath.
"Heh, you know nothing about the extent of our influence. If you refuse to say anything, then forget it. I wasn't here for you anyway."
The vampire licked his fangs. Compared to these ordinary humans, he was more interested in investigating who had supplied the Daywalker with the strong acid weapons he had obtained from this area.
"It's clearly highly corrosive. Whether injected or detonated, it can effectively kill some mixed-blood vampires... But for some reason, I could clearly smell blood in these liquids."
As a member of the Thirteen Clans, Dennis bore the responsibility of strengthening his people. The stronghold he had been stationed at had been wiped out by Blade, and a great many had died, but it had not been entirely without gains.
Whether intentional or not, Blade had not deliberately concealed his movements during this period. By tracing surveillance footage and motorcycle routes, Dennis had followed the trail and narrowed it down to several areas.
Dennis was very interested in this substance that seemed to be blood.
As everyone knew, vampires drew the energy that strengthened them from blood. If it was blood, they could drink it.
Unfortunately, these strange blood-like liquids evaporated rapidly upon contact with air, giving him no chance.
"Do it. Kill these pieces of food," Dennis said with a wave of his hand.
"On Weyland territory, you want to kill people without my permission? What are you thinking?"
A voice drifted over from afar.
Under the beam of a flashlight, Duva's figure flickered in and out of sight a hundred meters away.
"That Blade bastard really leaves me speechless. I asked for a few vampires, but not like this."
