Recovery, Half-Devil
Yuan Chen struggled to open his already crimson eyes, wanting to take one last look at the world before him.
Yet all that filled his vision was countless shards of ice.
And when he closed his eyes, everything from the past flashed through his mind like a revolving lantern.
At this moment, it truly seemed as though he had reached his final hour.
Looking back on his life, Yuan Chen's existence had not been particularly bitter, but with his talent, his path of Dao had been extraordinarily difficult. His heart was filled with endless unwillingness.
Fortunately, he had encountered benefactors throughout his life.
Thus, Yuan Chen did not resent the unfairness of fate. He only blamed himself for not working hard enough, for letting down those who had placed their hopes in him.
His parents had both died, and Yan Tiandong had raised him into the man he was. He had yet to repay that nurturing grace.
When the road ahead had seemed hopeless, Fang Xiao had renewed his path of Dao. He had yet to repay that grace of continuing his Dao.
When half his foundation had been destroyed, Li Mobai had helped him rebuild his Dao foundation. He had yet to repay that grace of remaking him.
Yet no matter how much unwillingness he felt, no matter how deeply he clung to life, when the curtain fell upon one's life, it all became helplessness filling the heart, scattering away like dust and smoke.
I have regrets in this life, but no remorse.
If there is another life, I hope I may walk the path of Dao once more.
As that final thought passed through his mind, Yuan Chen's consciousness gradually grew hazy, and even the pain coming from above seemed to drift farther and farther away.
