Many unbelievable rays had probably never been seen even by the surviving Netherese Archwizards, or by Asindo, the Earth Prophet who had enlightened the Netherese in magic.
Those who knew what they were were watching a bombardment of magical rays. Those who did not might have thought they were watching an interstellar war.

The Beholder Great Mother, like Mystra, the goddess of magic within the Crystal Sphere containing Toril, and Corellon, the chief god of the Elven Pantheon, possessed an innate magical
