World Soul
Azeroth’s World Soul can sense events outside the planet, feel fear and joy, and call on its inhabitants for help when threatened. Zuo Si likens its state of awareness to that of a newborn 810. Shadow energy surrounds its core because of the Old Gods’ corruption, while the planet also holds immense latent arcane power 638.
- Emotional awareness — The World Soul fears threats to the planet and responds joyfully when Zuo Si tells her Sargeras can no longer harm her 638 810.
- Perception of intent — She can sense whether someone bears her goodwill or ill intent 810.
- Avatar — She separates a small fragment of herself to form a smiling childlike figure, approximately five or six years old 810.
History
Zuo Si establishes a connection with the World Soul while drawing energy from the Well of Eternity. He senses her fear and preserves the Well as a renewable source rather than draining it completely. He also plans to draw on the Shadow energy surrounding her core without forcibly removing the Old Gods and risking damage to the planet 638.
He later connects a magical Weave directly to the World Soul. Through it, he hopes to influence her development by shaping how Azeroth’s peoples understand and use magic. The Weave also exposes her to thoughts and experiences from other worlds 661 752 810.
After defeating Sargeras, Zuo Si visits the planetary core to reassure her. She responds with a chime and creates her childlike avatar. He then considers giving her a physical body to accelerate her development 810.
