The Dark Magic Serpent attacked Allen like a storm, engulfing him in the next second. The Dark Magic Serpents piled up, forming a small snake mountain where Allen stood, all of them writhing incessantly. It was a true spectacle for trypophobia sufferers.
Asmodeus watched silently, flicking its forked tongue. It knew Allen wouldn't be defeated so easily.
As expected, it didn't take long for the small snake mountain to explode from within.
"Pure Land of Bliss!"
A destructive red beam shot out from inside the snake mountain towards Asmodeus, purifying any Dark Magic Serpents it touched.
Asmodeus opened its massive maw and let out a deafening roar that shook the very sky. Simultaneously, a dark Magic Power as thick as ink surged from its body, rapidly gathering and condensing before it. In the blink of an eye, this dark Magic Power transformed into a colossal shield, emanating a heart-stopping aura.
The powerful Pure Land of Bliss shot towards the Dark Shield like a meteor ablaze with raging flames. However, to Allen's surprise, when the two collided, there was no explosion. Instead, the power of Pure Land of Bliss seemed to be greedily devoured by the Dark Shield, merging into it without resistance and vanishing without a trace.
Allen frowned deeply, staring intently at the bizarre scene before him. He had witnessed Klay use a similar technique before. According to Allen's original plan, if his attack's Magic Power could exceed the opponent's limit, this technique would surely fail. But Allen knew exactly how powerful that strike of Pure Land of Bliss had been. Yet, it was so easily and completely absorbed by this Dark Shield!
However, at this moment, Allen keenly caught a crucial detail: Asmodeus actually required a brief moment to condense this shield. This meant that to inflict substantial damage, he had to strike Asmodeus's body before the shield was fully formed. Otherwise, given Asmodeus's seemingly boundless Magic Power reserves, Allen couldn't imagine any technique, short of the legendary Magic-Infused Spirit Power, being able to break through this defense.
Having made his decision, Allen unhesitatingly charged towards Asmodeus, preparing for close-quarters combat.
Allen's physical agility had greatly improved after receiving LordKnightmon, giving him a significant advantage in close-range combat. As long as he could get close, he was confident he could land a heavy blow on Asmodeus before the shield formed.
Allen surged forward like an arrow, his speed astonishing. Asmodeus, seeing this, attempted to repeat its previous tactic, unleashing its destructive tentacles to block Allen's advance. However, it had clearly underestimated Allen's current incredible agility. A mere dozen meters was a gap Allen could cross in the blink of an eye.
In almost an instant, Allen successfully leaped onto Asmodeus's massive body and continued to charge towards its head.
Asmodeus, of course, understood Allen's intentions and began to thrash its enormous body wildly, trying to shake Allen off.
Initially, due to the suddenness of the event and Allen's slight lapse in attention, he was indeed thrown a short distance by Asmodeus's immense strength. But Allen used Gram in mid-air to stab into Asmodeus's body, preventing himself from being thrown off.
To Allen's surprise, the seemingly hard scales on Asmodeus's body were as good as nothing at this moment, offering no resistance to Gram's thrust. Seeing Gram easily pierce Asmodeus's defenses, Allen's confidence surged. Asmodeus's physical defense was even weaker than Theodore's; its defense must primarily lie in that shield.
The damage inflicted by Gram caused Asmodeus to roar in pain, and black blood began to flow from the wound. The blood dripped onto the ground with a sound like melting metal, instantly forming small pits where it landed.
Asmodeus abruptly turned its head, its mouth agape, and a massive amount of Magic Power gathered within its mouth before it unleashed it towards Allen as he withdrew Gram.
"Serpent's Breath!"
The attack came too quickly for Allen to dodge. All he could do was bring Aegis horizontally in front of him as fast as possible to block Asmodeus's terrifying breath.
Aegis's defense did not disappoint Allen; it withstood the impact of Asmodeus's breath. However, despite the successful defense, the immense impact still surged like a tidal wave, sending Allen flying into the air.
Mid-air, Allen reacted with extreme agility. He knew that if he couldn't stabilize himself and find a foothold quickly, Asmodeus's breath would engulf him once he fell to the ground.
Therefore, Allen unhesitatingly plunged Gram towards Asmodeus's body below, attempting to use the resistance and recoil from piercing its body to find a point of leverage in the air.
But the cunning Asmodeus would not easily let Allen succeed. It was determined to fling this human off its body.
Asmodeus then continued its breath attack while twisting its body, trying to prevent Allen from stabbing it. However, due to Asmodeus's immense size, no matter how much it retreated and twisted, Allen still managed to stab Gram into its body.
Asmodeus had anticipated this, so as soon as Allen's Gram pierced its body, Asmodeus abruptly increased the intensity and power of its breath.
If an observer were watching this battle from a third-person perspective, they would witness a shocking sight: Allen, relying on his exceptional skills and agile movement, was already close to Asmodeus's head. But at this critical moment, Asmodeus's breath, like a ferocious dragon, mercilessly struck Allen and sent him flying into the air. Then, as Allen again used Gram to pierce Asmodeus's body, a bloody and brutal scene unfolded before everyone's eyes—Asmodeus's massive body was sliced open from head to tail by Allen, as if he were chopping firewood, leaving a deep, horrifying wound! Blood gushed out like a bursting dam, splattering everywhere. While the wound wasn't significant compared to its massive body, the pain caused it to roar incessantly, and blood continued to pour out, corroding the ground around it into pits.
The breath continued to spew out, seemingly endless, until Allen was blasted away like a cannonball, far from Asmodeus's massive body, before it finally stopped. Then, in the next second, Asmodeus's terrifying regenerative ability began to take effect.
Moments later, when Allen stood up from the ground, regaining his composure to prepare for the next battle, the horrific wounds on Asmodeus's body had already healed significantly!
At this moment, burning rage completely filled Asmodeus's already dull mind. Its blood-red eyes stared fixedly at Allen, radiating an uncontrollable killing intent and madness, as if it wished to tear the human who had been hurting it to shreds and devour him immediately!
Thus, after its wounds had mostly recovered, Asmodeus opened its fanged maw and let out a deafening roar in the direction of Deliora.
Not long after, an equally loud and terrifying response echoed from afar. Clearly, Deliora had heard its companion's summons and was rapidly approaching.
Seeing this, Allen couldn't help but curse inwardly, "What kind of nonsense is this? If you can't win a fight, you call for backup? What a disgrace to demons!" However, complaints were useless. No matter what, these two demons were beings that had to be eliminated.
At this point, all Allen could do was hope someone would intercept Deliora, giving him enough time to defeat Asmodeus.
Aware of the urgency, Allen quickly charged towards Asmodeus. But Asmodeus, having learned from its previous mistake, continuously unleashed attacks, using wide-range, excessive assaults to prevent Allen from approaching. Given its internal Magic Power reserves, it could maintain this barrage all day!
After finally advancing a distance, only to be immediately forced back by the attacks, Allen couldn't help but frown. But soon, his expression eased slightly, as he sensed someone approaching.
While Asmodeus was still attacking, a giant bolt of lightning struck its head directly from behind.
"Roar of the Thunder Dragon!"
BOOM!!!
Caught off guard, Asmodeus stumbled, its attack forced to pause.
Allen's eyes lit up, knowing this was his chance to break through. He immediately unleashed his fastest speed, charging onto Asmodeus before it could react. With Laxus providing a distraction, Allen directly rushed to its head.
Allen leaped up, Gram pointing downwards, its tip shimmering with Magic Power.
"Royal Spear Strike!"
