Background

Laxus was born with Magic Power far beyond ordinary people, but its uncontrolled surges made restraint and training essential. Makarov arranged for Ivan to acquire a Lightning Dragon Slayer Crystal, while Polyushika performed the implantation despite concerns that Laxus's body might not endure it. Laxus accepted the power as a responsibility to protect Fairy Tail and declared his ambition to become Guild Master. 4 6

He began following Allen during Allen's early training and quickly became his closest companion. Though initially envious of Allen's LordKnightmon armor, Laxus turned that envy into motivation; after the crystal implantation, the two spent two and a half years in daily duels.
