Three days later, outside the Fairy Tail guild hall, Laxus walked over to Allen after saying goodbye to Sorano and Yukino, who had tears in their eyes. He gave Allen a firm hug, symbolizing that the fledgling was ready to take flight.
Brothers did not need to say much. One look was enough for them to understand each other.
After releasing Allen from the embrace, Laxus turned to Makarov, who was standing nearby. "Old man, I'm leaving."
"Go on. Stay safe on the road, and think twice before doing anything."
After saying goodbye to everyone, Laxus pushed off the ground with both legs and swiftly flew into the sky.
As for why Laxus could fly, it was because Dragon Slayer Mages all got motion sickness. Laxus had therefore been trying to find a way to solve the problem, and Allen had suggested that he try controlling some electromagnetic force through the Lightning Dragon Slayer Crystal inside his body, using it to make himself fly.
For the six months after returning from Gildarts, Laxus had constantly discussed how to control electromagnetic force with Allen. It was not until three months ago that he made some progress. During his first flight, Laxus had used too much force and shot ten meters into the air. In his panic, he forgot to control his magic and fell back down. If Allen had not been beside him to protect him, Laxus would have needed at least six months of rest. After gaining that first experience, however, Laxus adjusted his mindset and quickly mastered the art of flight.
After watching Laxus fly away, Allen turned to several students from the kindergarten's junior class and said, "All right, you've seen the excitement. Go back to class."
