The End and the Duel

After a while, no one answered from behind the wooden wall.

Victor lost his patience. He summoned Ron and planned to send his thirty guards forward as the vanguard to storm the wooden wall directly.

Ron held a longsword in each hand and wore full armor. The guards were likewise fully armored, carrying longswords and shields. Victor had the Jell family and Luda's men each send over a dozen warriors carrying wooden planks, ready to lay them against the wall during the charge and help Ron and the guards climb over.

The planks were quickly laid against the wall. The soldiers inside tried to shove them down, but the Barbarian archers led by Jell and Luda suppressed them.

Ron took the lead in the charge. Wearing heavy armor, he leaped onto a plank as though walking on level ground, took three steps in the space of two, and, before the stunned defenders could react, jumped straight over the wooden wall.

After knocking down two Barbarian warriors who tried to stop him, Ron spun his twin swords, slashing left and hacking right. He cut down several Barbarians clad in iron-studded leather armor, gaining a foothold inside the wall almost instantly and clearing a safe position for the troops behind him.

Jell and Luda continued directing their archers to block the enemy reinforcements, pinning the arriving Barbarian warriors behind a tent until they could not raise their heads.

Taking advantage of those brief moments, more than ten armored guards crossed the planks and jumped over the wall. Following the bloody path Ron had carved out, they formed ranks head-on and surged forward together.

The dozens of Barbarians around the wooden wall were quickly swept aside. Not a single member of Ron's Guard Squad was injured, and the follow-up forces from the Jell
