After resting for the night, Orochimaru began deploying his forces the next day.

He gathered all the Hyuga Clan members and sensory-type ninja.

They were organized into teams of one Jonin and three Chunin, and he personally led a large force of Konoha ninja to search north of the camp.

Kawafune volunteered to stay behind to guard the camp, mainly because a large-scale search would do nothing to train the two kids.

Their lack of experience would only hold everyone back. After all, the two young Chunin had no powerful sensory abilities.

At the camp entrance, Orochimaru wanted to take Nawaki along as well.

"Nawaki, do you want to come with your teacher?"

"No need. I was just planning to train Nawaki a little more. He still has areas where he falls short."
