Some luck was innate, influenced by such factors as a living being's birth, location, and point in time.
A greater portion, however, came from changes acquired later in life.
For instance, one might do something that directly or indirectly helped another person. That person might later set some event in motion, and its blessings would flow back in return.
This was what was known as karma.
Luck could not be separated from time, just as creation could not be separated from space.
