Those somewhat familiar with him could call him Void for short. Those closer still could simply call him by his real name.
Having settled on his title, Qin Heng descended toward the stone house on Warm Moon Mountain Island where he had previously secluded himself.
He had just noticed that some places on the island differed from how they had been when he left.
This trip out to battle and break through had taken quite a long time. More than a thousand Void Ember Days had passed. Without him and Qin Bai around, some bold creatures from the lake had crawled up the mountain and made homes for themselves.
However, Qin Bai had already driven them all away. Only a few nests and houses remained as proof that they had once been here.
Qin Heng returned to his cultivation grounds in ordinary human form. Qin Bai immediately spotted him, transformed into a White Egret, and flew over. Upon landing, he changed back into a youth and said joyfully, "Island Master, you're finally back! While we were gone, several little factions from the lake turned our home into a complete mess. It took me dozens of days just to barely restore some of its original appearance."
It seemed that he had spent all this time trying to restore Warm Moon Mountain's environment.
Qin Heng said indifferently, "If it changed, then it changed. There's nothing bad about that. The world should keep turning. What never changes is something dead."
