Barren Land.
This place had originally been a lifeless stretch of land. After more than two thousand Void Ember Days of recent transformation by the Force Race elites, it had gained a faint trace of vitality.
The blue star scorched the earth. Upon the burnt soil, only a few tenacious blue-black needle-leaved plants stood upright.
Dozens of houses lay scattered across the wilderness. Occasionally, one or two burly men or women came out to walk around, but most merely took a lap before returning indoors.
Two Force Race youths had just finished their Transcendent Realm cultivation and stepped outside for some fresh air.
"Second Brother, what do you think our Old Home was like? I was born and raised here. I simply can't imagine the flowers and grass, rain and snow, great lakes and rivers you all talk about," one of the youths asked his companion curiously.
Second Brother replied, "I was only an infant when I left, and my impressions of our homeland are starting to blur as well. But I can responsibly tell you that our home was beautiful—ten thousand times more beautiful than this place!"
"It would be great if we could go back and see our clan's homeland. Sigh... what great undertaking are the Clan Leader and the others carrying out? Why haven't they returned after so long?"
"That isn't something we should concern ourselves with. We've had enough air; let's return to the Cultivation Room. The cosmic radiation outside is too intense. Your physique isn't tough enough yet, and you could easily be injured."
"Okay, Second Brother... Huh, Second Brother, look at the sky. Someone's coming. I don't think I've seen them before!"
"What people could possibly come to a place like this? They must be... What?!"
Second Brother had assumed that some ancestor-level expert
