After the Immortal Slaying Formation was broken, Tongtian gathered the Interception Sect’s disciples and ordered them to prepare the Myriad Immortals Formation for a decisive battle. He then resolved to seek Zhou Ming’s help, offering the Sky-Opening Mark in exchange for help facing another Sage.

• Tongtian confirmed that all Interception Sect disciples except Wen Zhong and his companions had returned to Jinao Island, and explained that Yuanshi had issued a final challenge.
• Tongtian ordered the disciples to practice the Myriad Immortals Formation, and Zhao Gongming, San Xiao, Saint Mother Jin Ling, Saint Mother Wudang, Saint Mother Guiling, and the Seven Attendants vowed to fight for the sect.
• Tongtian entrusted the Myriad Immortals Formation diagram to Yunxiao and ordered her to lead the disciples in mastering it.
• After the disciples left Biyou Palace, Tongtian realized the formation could not protect them against four Sages without another powerful ally.
• Tongtian decided to ask Zhou Ming to help stop a third Sage and resolved to offer him the Sky-Opening Mark before tearing open the void and departing.

Sect Master Tongtian returned to Pangu Hall to ask Zhou Ming for help saving the Interception Sect from the Myriad Immortals Formation. In exchange for all three Sky-Opening Marks, Zhou Ming offered to help Tongtian escape the Heavenly Dao and return to the Hunyuan path, leaving Tongtian stunned and asking whether he was serious.

• Zhou Ming sent Dijiang to bring Sect Master Tongtian into Pangu Hall, where Tongtian asked for help once more.
• Zhou Ming said the previous debt between them had been settled and that he would not help without payment.
• Tongtian offered one Sky-Opening Mark, then revealed that he possessed all three because the Three Pure Ones had exchanged and copied their marks.
• Zhou Ming offered to spare some Interception Sect disciples in exchange for all three marks, but Tongtian objected that the price was unfair.
• Zhou Ming offered to sever Tongtian's connection to the Heavenly Dao and help him abandon his Saint position to cultivate Hunyuan anew.

Zhou Ming explained how Sect Master Tongtian could sever his Heavenly Dao Saint position and promised to help him rebuild the Hunyuan path. He warned that Tongtian had to act before the Tribulation ended, then introduced the unfamiliar Saint-Slaying Pill.

• Zhou Ming told Sect Master Tongtian that he could break free from the Heavenly Dao by swearing an oath, severing the Hongmeng Purple Qi, and receiving Zhou Ming’s help to cleanse its imprint.
• Sect Master Tongtian said he no longer valued his Saint position, but worried that the Heavenly Dao would stop him; Zhou Ming promised to awaken Father God’s will to assist him.
• Zhou Ming refused to reveal the Hunyuan cultivation method, but swore that he would help Tongtian and warned that Tongtian would lose his chance after the Tribulation ended.

Zhou Ming revealed that Hongjun had prepared the Saint-Slaying Pill to control the Sages, prompting Tongtian to agree to trade a Sky-Opening Mark for help escaping the Heavenly Dao. Tongtian also secured Nuwa’s possible aid for the Interception Sect and asked Zhou Ming to consider helping Taiqing and Yuanshi later.

• Zhou Ming told Tongtian that Hongjun had refined the Saint-Slaying Pill to make the Sages dependent on him after the Tribulation.
• Tongtian agreed to trade three Sky-Opening Marks for help escaping the Heavenly Dao and rebuilding Hunyuan cultivation, asking Zhou Ming to help preserve the Interception Sect.
• Zhou Ming agreed to ask Nuwa to assist Tongtian but said the Witch Clan would not intervene and warned that Tongtian might only save some core disciples.
• Tongtian said he would rather his disciples be taken to the West than end up on the Investiture of the Gods if the Interception Sect lost.

Zhou Ming celebrated obtaining one of Pangu’s Sky-Opening Marks and planned to study it with Dijiang, Houtu, and Zhujiuyin after the Tribulation. He then visited Nuwa, who agreed to help Tongtian again in exchange for canceling another favor, while remaining unaware that the mark was Zhou Ming’s prize.

• Dijiang, Houtu, and Zhujiuyin congratulated Zhou Ming on obtaining a Sky-Opening Mark and anticipated that he could collect the other two from Tongtian.
• Zhou Ming told the three Ancestor Witches to guard Pangu Hall and said they would study the marks together after the Tribulation.
• Zhou Ming went to Wa Huang Palace and asked Nuwa to help Tongtian again, offering to cancel one of her outstanding favors.

Wen Zhong returned to Chaoge after pacifying most of the North Sea, then left for Jinao Island to stand with the Interception Sect in its coming battle. Wu promised to keep him safe through the Tribulation, while Saint Mother Jin Ling sent him to follow Yunxiao's arrangements for the Myriad Immortals Formation.

• Wen Zhong reported to Wu that the North Sea rebellion had been mostly crushed and that Ji Li and Yu Qing would remain to carry out the King's rule.
• Wen Zhong told Wu he would return to Jinao Island, and Wu accepted his choice and promised to await his return.
• Wen Zhong left Chaoge for Jinao Island, where Wu vowed to give him a different ending and keep him safe through the Tribulation.
• Wen Zhong told Saint Mother Jin Ling he would fight alongside the Interception Sect despite the danger, and she praised his resolve.
• Saint Mother Jin Ling told Wen Zhong that their Ancestor Master was in seclusion and directed him to follow Yunxiao's arrangements for the Myriad Immortals Formation.

Sect Master Tongtian emerged from seclusion and prepared the Interception Sect for its decisive battle against the four Sages. He revealed the Six Souls Banner and led his disciples toward Sishui Pass to form the Myriad Immortals Formation.

• Sect Master Tongtian welcomed Wen Zhong back and praised his loyalty, while Saint Mother Jin Ling acknowledged her disciple's resolve.
• Sect Master Tongtian gave Zhao Gongming the Six Souls Banner, explaining that it could damage even a Sage's Primordial Spirit.
• Sect Master Tongtian revealed that the banner bore the names Taiqing, Laozi; Yuqing, Yuanshi; Daoist Jieyin; Daoist Zhunti; Shen Gongbao; and Ji Chang.

Sect Master Tongtian faced Yuanshi, Jieyin, Taiqing, and Zhunti in the Myriad Immortals Formation, with Nuwa and Wu joining the battle on his side. As Yunxiao activated the formation and gathered the power of tens of thousands of Interception Sect disciples into Tongtian, he struck back against Yuanshi and Jieyin.

• Tongtian established the Myriad Immortals Formation at Sishui Pass and challenged Yuanshi to break through it.
• Tongtian asked Nuwa to hold back Taiqing and Wu to fight Zhunti, while Yunxiao assisted him against Yuanshi and Jieyin.

When Yuanshi unleashed his full power and swore to destroy the Interception Sect, Tongtian ordered his disciples to pour all their Magic Power into the formation, preparing a devastating counterattack.

• Sect Master Tongtian held off Venerable Lord Yuanshi and Daoist Jieyin with the Myriad Immortals Formation, while Nuwa battled Saint Taiqing and Wu fought Daoist Zhunti.
• Venerable Lord Yuanshi proposed leaving Jieyin to hold Tongtian back while he attacked the Interception Sect disciples and destroyed the formation’s foundation.

The six Sages unleashed their full power in the Myriad Immortals Formation, threatening to damage the Primordial Wilderness. At Pangu Hall, Zhou Ming prepared the Witch Clan to collect the resulting fragments while protecting Buzhou Mountain.

• Jieyin chose to unleash his full power to capture the Interception Sect disciples and ordered Zhunti to do the same.
• Zhunti struck Wu with the full force of the Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree, but Wu blocked the attack with the Human Emperor Sword.
• Taiqing intensified his attack, and Nuwa decided to fight at full power rather than break her promise to Zhou Ming.
• All six Sages released their full power, and the Myriad Immortals Formation and Primordial Wilderness groaned under the strain.
• Zhou Ming told Houtu, Dijiang, and Zhujiuyin to prepare to collect fragments of the Primordial Wilderness, while Zhurong and Gonggong guarded Buzhou Mountain.

The Six Souls Banner let Tongtian’s side wound the Saints and killed Ji Chang, but Jieyin and Zhunti escaped its curse by leaving the Mystic Gate and founding Buddhism. With the banner no longer affecting them, Amitabha attacked Zhao Gongming to seize the treasure.

• Yuanshi and Jieyin slaughtered or captured Interception Sect disciples, and Tongtian took Jieyin’s blow while shielding San Xiao and Zhao Gongming.
• Tongtian told Zhao Gongming to wave the Six Souls Banner, which disrupted the four Saints and killed Ji Chang in Xiqi while Shen Gongbao survived.
• Nuwa and Wu wounded Taiqing and Zhunti, while Tongtian wounded Yuanshi, as Zhao Gongming repeatedly waved the banner to suppress the Saints.

• Wu used the Space Gourd to rescue Zhao Gongming, but Jieyin seized the Six Souls Banner before the passage closed.

As the Primordial Wilderness shattered, Zhou Ming’s allies worked to protect its people and gather its fragments while five Sages destroyed the Investiture of the Gods. The Sages clashed over the freed True Spirits until a powerful figure descended onto the battlefield.

• Zhou Ming sent Dijiang, Houtu, and Zhujiuyin into Chaos to collect fragments of the Primordial Wilderness, while the other Ancestral Witches protected Buzhou Mountain.
• Empress Pingxin lent her power to Zhen Yuanzi as he used the Earth Book to stabilize the Primordial Wilderness’s earth veins.
• Hongjun sent his Heavenly Dao Avatar to punish the Sages for defying him and attacking the Investiture of the Gods.
• Yuanshi, Tongtian, Taiqing, Jieyin, and Zhunti struck the cracked Investiture of the Gods together, shattering it and freeing countless True Spirits.
• Jieyin and Zhunti seized True Spirits, prompting Yuanshi, Tongtian, Taiqing, and Wu to attack them; just as the Western Sages were being overwhelmed, an immense pressure descended and a figure appeared.

Hongjun subdued Yuanshi and Tongtian, condemned the Sages for devastating the Primordial Wilderness, and ordered the Three Pure Ones to swallow Saint-Slaying Pills that could kill them if they fought again. Tongtian exposed the pills’ purpose, and Hongjun prepared to force them to take the pills when they refused.

• Hongjun appeared and ordered Yuanshi and Tongtian to stop fighting, but they ignored him and continued attacking Jieyin and Zhunti.
• Hongjun froze Yuanshi and Tongtian with a gesture, then rebuked the five Sages for wrecking the Primordial Wilderness and shattering the Investiture of the Gods.
• Hongjun produced three ominous pills and ordered Taiqing, Yuanshi, and Tongtian to swallow them as punishment.
• Tongtian recognized the pills as Saint-Slaying Pills and revealed that they would place the Three Pure Ones’ lives under Hongjun’s control.
• Hongjun confirmed that the pills would kill them if they fought again, but the Three Pure Ones refused to swallow them.
• Hongjun raised his hand and gathered power to restrain the Three Pure Ones and force them to take the pills.

Zhou Ming stopped Hongjun’s Avatar from forcing Saint-Slaying Pills on the Three Pure Ones and helped Tongtian begin renouncing his Heavenly Dao Saint position. Tongtian cut out his Hongmeng Purple Qi, but found that his connection to the Heavenly Dao still held him fast.

• Hongjun’s Avatar imprisoned the Three Pure Ones and tried to force Saint-Slaying Pills on them, but Zhou Ming shattered his restraint and intervened.
• Zhou Ming told Tongtian to begin their transaction, and Tongtian vowed before the Great Dao and Pangu to abolish his Saint position and leave the Heavenly Dao and Mystic Gate.
• Pangu’s Will awakened within Buzhou Mountain and approved Tongtian’s oath.
• Zhou Ming blocked Hongjun’s Avatar from stopping Tongtian, while the two fought without letting their battle damage the Primordial Wilderness.

Zhou Ming tried to free Sect Master Tongtian from the Heavenly Dao with the Heaven-Opening Divine Axe, but Hongjun revealed that the connection would return unless Tongtian's Saint Position karma was settled. Hongjun demanded Tongtian's Sky-Opening Mark in exchange, and after Tongtian agreed and Father God's voice approved, Zhou Ming told him to hand it over.

• Zhou Ming fused the Taiji Diagram, Pangu Banner, and Chaos Bell into the Heaven-Opening Divine Axe and used it to sever Tongtian's connection to the Heavenly Dao, but it immediately reformed.
• Hongjun explained that Tongtian's Saint Position karma had to be settled for him to break free, and Zhou Ming asked what price Hongjun would accept.
• Hongjun demanded Tongtian's share of the Sky-Opening Mark, but Zhou Ming initially refused and Hongjun challenged him to summon Pangu's Will.
• Tongtian learned of the demand and agreed to give up his Sky-Opening Mark rather than further drain Father God's Will.

Hongjun obtained Tongtian’s Sky-Opening Mark and severed Tongtian’s connection to the Heavenly Dao, while Tongtian urged Taiqing and Yuanshi to seek freedom with Zhou Ming’s help. As Taiqing and Yuanshi considered the offer, Hongjun threatened to unleash the Immeasurable Tribulation and return the Primordial Wilderness to Chaos if Zhou Ming helped them leave.

• Tongtian gave Hongjun the Sky-Opening Mark in exchange for severing his connection to the Heavenly Dao, and Hongjun rejoiced at securing the first part of Pangu’s inheritance.
• Taiqing and Yuanshi realized Hongjun might have accepted them as disciples to obtain their Sky-Opening Marks, while Jieyin, Zhunti, and Nuwa reacted to his scheme.
• Hongjun severed Tongtian’s Heavenly Dao connection, and Zhou Ming confirmed that Tongtian was free.

Zhou Ming and Hongjun negotiated over whether Taiqing and Yuanshi could leave the Heavenly Dao, with Hongjun threatening to unleash the Immeasurable Tribulation. Zhou Ming backed down from helping them escape but secured an oath that Hongjun would never use Saint-Slaying Pills to control them, then called for the Investiture of the Gods tribulation to end.

• Hongjun threatened to begin the Immeasurable Tribulation if Zhou Ming helped Taiqing and Yuanshi break free from the Heavenly Dao.
• Zhou Ming realized Hongjun was prepared to destroy the Primordial World rather than lose control of the Three Pure Ones, and chose not to force the issue.

Hongjun ended the tribulation by punishing the Sages and ordering them to stay out of mortal affairs, while Zhou Ming negotiated ten years for Wu to settle the Human Race’s affairs. Hongjun then invited Zhou Ming to help reforge the Primordial Wilderness.

• Hongjun ruled that Yuanshi and Tongtian’s disciples could reincarnate but must eventually serve in the Heavenly Court, and their surviving disciples must serve there as well.
• Hongjun ordered Taiqing to send a Three Corpses incarnation to the Heavenly Court and severed Jieyin and Zhunti’s ties with the Mystic Gate.
• Hongjun forbade all Sages from entering the Primordial Wilderness or interfering in mortal affairs until the Immeasurable Tribulation.

Zhou Ming and Hongjun reforged the shattered Primordial Wilderness, while Hongjun warned that the fragile world could no longer endure Sage-level battles. After Tongtian gave his disciples final instructions and departed with Zhou Ming, the surviving Jie Sect disciples faced an uncertain future and chose to return to Jinao Island.

• Hongjun and Zhou Ming used the Jade Tablet of Creation and their powers to mend the shattered Primordial Wilderness.

After Venerable Lord Yuanshi’s edict left Shen Gongbao off the list of those summoned back to Kunlun Mountain, Shen Gongbao and Daoist Burning Lamp decided to defect to the West with Sage Zhunti’s help. Shen Gongbao lured Yun Zhongzi away by arranging for Ji Shudan to ask him to mediate Ji Fa and Bo Yikao’s succession dispute, allowing Shen Gongbao and Burning Lamp to escape Xiqi.

• Shen Gongbao realized Venerable Lord Yuanshi had abandoned him, and Daoist Burning Lamp revealed that Sage Zhunti had agreed to help them leave the Chan Sect.
• Shen Gongbao proposed distracting Yun Zhongzi by using Ji Fa’s rivalry with Bo Yikao and sending Ji Shudan to request Yun Zhongzi’s mediation.
• Ji Shudan asked Yun Zhongzi to help settle the dispute between his brothers, and Shen Gongbao persuaded Yun Zhongzi that mediation would not violate the Dao Ancestor’s order.

Burning Lamp and Shen Gongbao fled toward the West after leaving the Chan Sect, but Venerable Lord Yuanshi caught up with them before they reached safety. Zhunti intervened, claimed them as Buddhist disciples, and agreed to fight Yuanshi in Chaos while the two defectors continued to Western Spirit Mountain.

• Burning Lamp and Shen Gongbao fled Xiqi toward the western lands, fearing Yuanshi would discover their betrayal.
• Yuanshi manifested above them and prepared to kill them, but Zhunti blocked his attack with a Sage's will.
• Zhunti refused Yuanshi's demand to hand over Burning Lamp and Shen Gongbao, insisting they had chosen to join Buddhism.
• Yuanshi challenged Zhunti to fight in Chaos, and Zhunti accepted before instructing the two defectors to seek refuge with Jieyin at Western Spirit Mountain.
• Yuanshi attacked Zhunti with the Three Treasures Jade Ruyi in Chaos.

Venerable Lord Yuanshi fought Daoist Zhunti in Chaos and broke his golden body, then accepted the West’s claim to the captured True Spirits of his Chan Sect disciples. As Daoist Jieyin prepared to take the wounded Zhunti away, Nuwa stopped them to settle her own account.

• Venerable Lord Yuanshi attacked Daoist Zhunti while Saint Taiqing blocked Daoist Jieyin from intervening, and Nuwa and Daoist Jieyin arrived at the battlefield.
• Daoist Zhunti admitted he had been in the wrong, but Venerable Lord Yuanshi continued until his six-zhang golden body shattered.
• Venerable Lord Yuanshi agreed not to pursue Zhunti’s recruitment of Burning Lamp and Shen Gongbao, but Zhunti refused to return the captured True Spirits.
