I don't know how long had passed before I opened my eyes, only to find that we were already standing on a beach. Wuxin, Liu Ling'er, and the others were beside me.
"We're back." Liu Ling'er looked around as she spoke.
"I never expected things to turn out this way." I gazed ahead with an indifferent expression. "Who could have imagined that something like this would happen?"
"We finally made it back." Chu Zhaixing jumped up, his eyes filled with excitement. "Now we can finally be free."
I rolled my eyes at him and said indifferently, "Whatever happens, it's good that we're back. I just don't know what the human world is like now."
Our arrival didn't attract any attention. The beach we were on was completely silent, with no one around.
I was puzzled and looked around, only to discover that there really was no one besides us. It seemed that something had indeed happened to the human world.
"Let's take a look first and figure out where we've ended up," I said.
Our group soon reached a nearby small city. Looking at the bustling crowds there, I felt as if a day had passed in the blink of an eye.
"I never thought we'd finally make it back."
"It really wasn't easy."
"Wonderful. This is truly wonderful."
They shouted wildly, their faces filled with excitement. The people around us looked at us as if we were insane, keeping as far away from us as possible.
We were eating ramen in a ramen shop.
I couldn't help asking, "I wonder what happened recently?"
"I just feel like all these people have something weighing on their minds," Liu Ling'er said.
Wuxin took a sip of soup before saying, "None of that matters. What's important is that we have no money.
