When I asked what would happen if we offended the immortals, the man immediately said in alarm, "That would be incredibly terrifying. Let me tell you a story from my village, and you'll understand just how terrifying it can be."

After saying that, he told us about an incident that had once caused a sensation in the area.

It happened in a primeval jungle, a place rarely visited by people and covered everywhere by trees. Logging was forbidden there, so the vegetation was lush and dense. Yet something horrifying had happened in that place.

At the time, a forest patrolman suddenly discovered a damaged sedan stuck between several trees in a dense part of the forest. It was completely motionless. Inside the car lay a person, and the person had died a gruesome death.

The police soon arrived, but the incident left them utterly baffled.

There were trees everywhere around them. There were no roads at all. There was no way the car could have been driven in. Could it have flown there?

Even that made no sense, because the car was wedged between several trees. It was as if those trees had grown there around it.

The person was covered in wounds, but every one of them had been self-inflicted. Not only that, his expression was filled with terror, as if he had seen something horrifying before he died.

At this point, I couldn't help asking, "So, did they catch the culprit?"

"No." The man shook his head. "They couldn't find any culprit at all. After gathering surveillance footage, the police discovered that the man had driven into the mountains himself. But no one knew what had happened after that."

"But I've heard some inside information."

The man lowered his voice and said, "While driving, this
