Defeating the Succubus
The lash nearly tore the Grand Guardian's skin open—his entire body was covered in scarlet cracks like shattered glass, and his muscles even bulged out of the cracks.
The blood vessels near his eyes bulged out menacingly and then burst, bleeding profusely. Blood soaked around his eyes and even seeped into them.
He let out a wild, hysterical roar, and without any reason, he dropped the National Artifact in his hand and charged towards Yulia in intense pain and struggle.
The white-haired girl, who had initially looked panicked and fearful, suddenly calmed down.
It was as if the fear they had felt earlier was just an act.
The Grand Guardian suddenly stopped and slowly turned around.
Iver, Night Demon, the Grand Guardian, Yulia ... everyone Time Stop and slowly looked at him.
Their faces turned pale, and a strange, cold smile appeared on their faces.
The succubus was only stunned for a moment before she suddenly realized what was happening.
This is fake! It's an illusion!
The powerful will of the Greater Phantom Demon instantly freed her from the illusion. Without hesitation, she turned and attacked, lashing out with a single whip at the Earthbound Spirit that tried to approach her!
Just as the Grand Guardian launched his furious charge, Yulia's expression had just calmed down.
The succubus suddenly became wary—
But it was too late.
A giant hand that had been outstretched behind her landed and firmly grasped her.
When Iver silently summoned the "Earthbound Spirit," the succubus was only dragged into an illusion for less than half a second.
Iver certainly noticed Isabel's presence, but he knew even better that Ligeia already knew what he was about to do and was nearby. Therefore, he had no reason to worry about her safety.
So when the succubus was focused on Isabel, Iver took the opportunity to control her instead.
The succubus's own scheme backfired, leading her into a trap!
In that half-second, the outcome was decided—
—The moment the Night Demon's Hand of Jealousy seized her, the succubus knew she was utterly unable to escape.
Layer upon layer of giant, shadowy hands converged from all directions, enveloping the fist more and more tightly.
Unlike the "gentle" way of drawing power from the griffin, the Hand of Jealousy gripping the succubus was noticeably "forceful."
Amidst the creaking and groaning of clenched fists, there were faint and muffled screams, and the sickening sound of bones being crushed and broken.
—Iver breathed a slight sigh of relief.
it's over.
Although he was very confident in Night Demon, he couldn't help but feel a chill when he realized he would have to fight two or even three opponents at once.
Fortunately, the Night Demon was truly formidable... and fortunately, the Succubus was rather timid and intimidated by the Night Demon, preventing her from directly attacking Iver. Otherwise, if the three of them had attacked together, Iver truly felt that the Night Demon might not have been able to withstand it.
If they fought freely, Night Demon could easily take on three opponents at once.
But the problem is that Viennes has her own weakness. She has to protect herself and can't kill the Grand Guardian and the Griffin Philip, so she's a little hesitant to act freely.
"I'm sorry to have troubled you."
Iver whispered to Viennes, "And... thank you."
"Your will, Master."
Viennes spoke in a clear, ethereal voice, but the corners of his mouth were slightly upturned.
On the other side, "Yulia" suddenly radiated a pink glow and transformed back into Isabel's appearance in the shattered illusion.
She wore Queen's gown and had a calm expression.
The next moment, silver chains clattered and appeared from the void, locking onto the Grand Guardian and binding him tightly.
He roared deafeningly as he drew ever closer to Isabel. His muscles bulged, and his chains tightened.
Because of the violent struggle, his flesh was cut by the chains. His blood splattered onto Isabel.
But Isabel did not back down an inch.
She showed no fear, but simply raised her hand and gently stroked the Grand Guardian's cheek. Her hand became damp with the light touch of his skin. It was all the blood that had seeped from his body.
Isabel's pristine white dress was stained crimson with blood, and her cheeks were dotted with drops of blood—even though it wasn't her own.
The Grand Guardian's body trembled violently as Isabel touched him.
He was ordered to attack Isabel, yet the constraints of authority prevented him from harming any members of the Du Lac Family. He struggled internally, his temples bulging, but he failed to inflict any damage on Isabel.
"—Quiet down, George."
Just then, Ligeia's childish voice rang out from around the corner behind her.
The Grand Guardian, bound by silver chains, ceased movement instantly, like a mech suddenly losing power, and reverted to his original puppet-like form. The rage that had gripped his mind vanished in an instant.
Only the blood and ruptured wounds covering his body proved what he had just gone through.
Ligeia, holding the Avalon Scepter which was taller than herself, slowly walked out from around the corner behind her.
Looking at the Grand Guardian, who was hanging in mid-air with his head bowed and silver chains, Ligeia sighed, feeling a pang of pity. "George... he's really suffered."
She turned to look at Iver and called out, "Hurry up, Iver!"
"I know!"
Iver replied.
At this moment, less than half a minute had passed since the battle began, and only a dozen seconds had passed since the first loud bang.
He didn't know when the people from the Arbitration Hall would arrive—if possible, he'd better finish sealing it before they did.
Only after he sealed the succubus away did he dare to reclaim the Night Demon, who had completely controlled her.
He had to act quickly... because he didn't know how long the Night Demon could remain in this form in the Material Realm. Even for the Night Demon's sake, he had to complete the seal as soon as possible and then restore the Night Demon to its traveling form.
If that's the case, then both the Blood Moon in the sky and the ominous blood rain can be attributed to Countess Emma —after all, as the Child of the Moon, she is inherently compatible with the concept of "blood."
So Iver took out the cards he had prepared beforehand and poured his mana into them with overwhelming force—
Succubus can be sealed using either the "Power" or "Lover" card.
Iver's Lovers card has already been given to Viennes, so only the Power card is available.
If you use ten points of Dark Attribute Mana, you can obtain the [Spell Card: Suggestion Brand].
This spell is practically unused in the game, almost a filler spell. Its effect is that it can only be used when the target is charmed, applying a delayed "Suggestion Brand". After the charm effect ends, the brand can be triggered again within its range to cast a "Command Spell" spell.
"Command Spell" is considered a spell of the Path of Love, with effects equivalent to the law Law Spell used by Law Mage. It is a lower version of Ligeia's "Dragon Blood Law Decree".
If we have to talk about benefits, there are definitely some. For players who have made a contract with a succubus, or turned a succubus into Great Sin Beast, this can be used to strengthen their control chain, which is better than having an empty card. Command Spell can also have unexpected effects occasionally—such as "Put down your weapon," "Interrupt a ritual," or "Attack an ally."
However, it's not very versatile. To trigger this effect, you first need to use a charm spell and successfully charm the target. Then, after applying the Suggestion Brand, activating the mark again requires another check. The more dangerous the command, the lower the success rate and the shorter the duration. For example, commanding suicide is almost impossible to succeed, but commanding stillness almost always succeeds.
Therefore, this was directly ruled out by Iver.
Iver's dilemma mainly revolved around the remaining two options.
Twenty mana points are enough to create the [Enchantment Card: Bewitching Aura].
With thirty points of mana, you can create the [Equipment Card: Scarlet Vixen].
Both cards work great!
