Morning light fell across the prow, and a streak of golden radiance still coiled around Chen Wuya's arm. Like a living thing, it slowly drifted about, faintly brightening and dimming with his breaths.

He rose to his feet and walked to the cabin door. Bai Zhi was leaning against it, a child in her arms. She looked up at him without speaking, merely giving a soft nod.

Mo Feng had already opened the mechanism case, the blue glow from its panel casting light over his face. With a flick of his finger, a star chart appeared in the air. Points of light linked into lines, outlining the South Sea.

"Here." His fingertip stopped over a swirling black spot. "It isn't an ordinary whirlpool. It connects to a spacetime rift, but the entrance has been sealed."

Chen Wuya stared at the dark mass. "How do we open it?"

"The Sea-Subduing Divine Needle." Mo Feng's voice lowered. "Only by finding it can we stabilize the rift and enter."

Bai Zhi lowered her gaze to the infant in her arms, one hand gently brushing over her lower belly. Her movements were so light, as though afraid of disturbing something.

Chen Wuya turned and headed for the stern. Several wooden crates were piled up on the shore, filled with rations, water skins, and spare ropes. He raised his right hand, palm outward, and Misaligned Force surged through his meridians, tracing warped paths through the air.

The crates rose from the ground and flew into the cabin one after another. Just as the final crate passed through the door, his arm suddenly trembled. The golden radiance flared brightly, then swiftly dimmed.

A system notification immediately appeared:
