Years of practicing silent magic gave True Silent Magician a meticulous, composed, and restrained demeanor. She is far less outwardly lively than Dark Magician Girl, though being noticed by You Chen after years of isolation makes her unexpectedly curious and talkative with him. 35

Background / History

Before meeting You Chen, True Silent Magician spent years in the human world searching for someone with enough duel aptitude to see her. Unable to communicate with ordinary people, she believed she might never again find a human she could truly speak with. 35 36

She explains to You Chen that spirits and humans are not inherently enemies: some coexist peacefully, while others are hostile. She also teaches him that a spirit’s acknowledgment makes it much easier to generate cards associated with that spirit. 35

True Silent Magician needs help saving her former master, so she proposes a duel in which the winner may demand a request from the loser. You Chen defeats her through a surprise OTK, countering her hand-based ATK gain with Curse of the Heavenly Evil Spirit and negating her response with Magic Jammer. 35 37 Honoring the wager, she becomes his Spirit; despite winning, You Chen chooses to help save her former master. 38

Her deck’s public debut during You Chen’s duel against Han Feng astonishes spectators and researchers. The True Silent Magician Deck had previously existed only in textbooks, with its effects unknown to the public. 54 When You Chen allows her to be destroyed in that duel, her replacement effect summons Silent Magician LV8, initially causing her to misunderstand his tactical decision before realizing he had considered her value. 56

In the Spirit Realm, True Silent Magician returns to the Spellcaster territory and warns You Chen about an Evil God’s infiltration and corruption of the region. 345 Using the Chronicle Magician and Chronicle Witch’s magic books, You Chen locates her former master, Mo Changqing, who has become fully possessed by the Evil God. 346
