Three days passed in the blink of an eye.
Li Qing was sunbathing in the courtyard when he noticed Susannie next door coming and going frequently over the past few days.
He guessed she was busy preparing for Sylph's "transmigration," though he didn't know what she was preparing for, since it was a descent of consciousness.
In Susannie's opinion.
The Elf Saintess Sylph had almost completely lost her memory. She had no inherited spells left, her combat power was less than one percent, and she couldn't even beat an ordinary person like herself. Susannie had to be the hero who saved her a second time.
"This girl is quite proactive."
Li Qing glanced sideways slightly.
After all, she was someone who fought wits and courage with her mother for her girlfriend. If she were truly an incompetent second-generation rich kid with no abilities, Li Qing wouldn't have chosen her.
Meanwhile, Susannie's preparations were in full swing.
The elven world next door was also developing at an astonishing rate.
Swish!
Ten times the speed per day. Three days outside was like a month inside.
Through his phone, Li Qing could see the surveillance footage from the laboratory cameras:
The Human Race was going all out, moving like ants in a documentary, flexibly and densely across the ground.
Since they couldn't ascend the World Tree of the gods or observe beyond the Crystal Wall, they had piled up cans and tins to form a garbage mountain, standing on top to peer through the glass window.
"What is that??"
"Is it outside the world?"
"Why is only this Crystal Wall world transparent?"
"Silver chaos, refracting endless brilliance. Is this an outer realm? Are worlds like ours standing tall within the endless chaos??"
Over the past month, the ten Human Kings had looked on with longing every day.
Like convicts in a labor camp, they all huddled by the laboratory window, gazing wistfully at the vast, empty silver hall outside.
Like the Atabians of old, they yearned to explore the entire world. They even picked up pieces of iron without any instruction, attempting to pierce the tempered glass.
But with their size and strength, they couldn't even leave a mark.
"The power of the gods, the great life that creates all!"
"We will continue to research martial arts."
The Human Race continuously trained their bloodline talents, becoming Bloodline Knights, and the friction with the Elves on the trees grew.
In contrast, over the past month, Ilis, the Thunder Spider who had received a Divine Oracle, had secretly accumulated its strength and was now fully prepared.
He intended to welcome the descent of an Ancient God from beyond the heavens.
This world was perfectly square.
In a corner at the edge of the world-room, a hill had been piled up, concealing a cave, and deep within the cave lay a summoning altar!
"Great God of Thunder, please descend!"
Before the altar, countless demonic beasts knelt in fervent worship.
They prayed. In the dim cave, a strange and eerie atmosphere pervaded. Blood was used to write characters, and tree sap was used to draw totems.
The altar before them was unique. On the wall was a complex and exquisite floral pattern drawn with blood, resembling a gate. In the center of the gate was a circle, as if a world portal would open here, directly opposite the current location, drilling through to this room.
"Hum!"
As these followers of the Outer Gods continued their prayers, the entire cave suddenly began to vibrate.
If the inner walls of the cave weren't propped up by tin metal, they would have collapsed instantly.
As the vibrations grew stronger, the entire vast World Wall emitted a low, crackling sound of electricity. The immense, high-frequency vibrations made it difficult for all the demonic beasts before the altar to breathe.
"That gate drawn on the wall is heating up!"
"It's vibrating!"
"The gate is opening!"
The followers became even more frenzied, praying incessantly.
Their prayers, combined with the vibrations, sounded like countless high-frequency chaotic tones, short and long, mixed together, as piercing as the ramblings of ancient demons.
"What is that?"
"Go check the source quickly!"
From the distant tribes, the ten Human Kings looked towards the direction of the forest, a strong sense of unease growing in their hearts.
And on the World Tree, the Elves, holding bows and staffs, suddenly noticed the vibrations from that direction. As the earth shook and the hill collapsed, the altar house built from piled metal below was revealed.
Above the World Tree.
"What a beautiful sound."
Herodotus suddenly exclaimed.
"Your Majesty, you still have the mood to comment." Minis' expression was a bit stiff.
"What kind of thing could possibly make such chaotic and terrifying, intense sounds?" Herodotus said.
Sizzle, sizzle!
As the Elves and Humans approached, the deafening sound grew louder, and the entire world began to shake violently!
Inside the altar, Ilis slowly spoke, "They've discovered us! They're rushing here to stop our ritual. Everyone, let's begin. Let the gods in the World Tree witness our power."
"Yes, the gods created us, yet they abandoned us to favor their new darlings, the Humans," roared a half-human creature modified from a dung beetle.
"We are powerful now. We believe in new gods," said a defective monster with a fly's head and an ant's body, which was all show and no substance.
As the first wave of Humans arrived to investigate, hidden traps were suddenly triggered.
Click!
Countless arcs of electricity crackled across the floor. These were conductive traps laid out with metal and water on the ground.
"Thunder Judgment!"
Ilis shouted, instantly electrocuting hundreds of Human troops. The smell of burnt flesh filled the air.
"What is this?"
Several Human Kings in the distance were shocked. "What is that!"
In this world, such powerful individual strength had never been seen before.
And this mysterious spider before them had instantly crushed a legion of hundreds of Human knights.
The Elven Race also arrived from afar.
They discovered that the ground was covered in these forbidden zones. Stepping into them would lead to a trap and turn them into charcoal, so they dared not enter.
"Archers, prepare!"
Countless Elven archers stepped forward and began firing poisoned arrows.
Thwip, thwip, thwip!
The overwhelming hail of arrows couldn't penetrate the metal shell of the canned peach, and they couldn't find a way to attack the enemy's altar from within.
And in the sky.
The gods looked down upon that area.
They frowned slightly, unsure of what was happening.
"This is bad! The God of Light just sent down a Divine Oracle, and the Holy Dragon spoke. There are heretics in this world, possibly summoning an Evil God!" A red-robed priest rushed over from a distance to inform the gods.
"Stop it quickly!" The gods were suddenly furious.
Unfortunately, even the gods who arrived were powerless. The ground before them was entirely metal; stepping on it would electrocute them, and they couldn't charge through in a short time.
This was their first encounter with electricity and metal conduction. They had no means to counter it in the short term.
They could only watch helplessly as the metal walls, shaking the world, emitted a cacophony of noise. The terrifying changes occurring in this world pressed down on everyone's hearts like heavy mountains.
Ilis, however, was eager to show off. From across the metal ground, he held a metal scepter, spread his arms wide like a great villain, and smiled mockingly from afar:
"Gods, you are nothing more than this."
"You gave us life, yet you destroy us without a second thought."
"This is our revenge. Let the gods feel our pain."
Heh.
Ilis couldn't help but let out a mocking, low chuckle.
"We are all creations of the gods. Why should we struggle in the forests and be tormented, while the Elves are the gods' darlings, living happily in the trees? Why should Humans receive divine favor and gain the power to transform themselves?"
"You are unworthy to be the gods who create civilization. The eternal ancient beings will open a passage to this world!"
"Endless mountains of flesh and blood, boundless skeletons, demon dragons, will surge from the abyss and invade this world!"
Vaguely, Ilis felt endless exhilaration and freedom. He spread his arms:
"The Demon Lords will be resurrected in war!"
"Submit, or be destroyed!"
As he roared, the world's iron wall behind him vibrated even more noticeably.
They felt the approaching earth shake!
Even the Crystal Wall trembled!
The forest on the ground also swayed, falling haphazardly.
Water splashed in the rivers.
The leaves of the World Tree also shed some. The terrifying tremors echoed like the roar of an ancient thunder god throughout the entirely sealed metal world.
Sizzle, sizzle.
Everyone looked up at the Crystal Wall, which was shaking violently, as if a majestic mythical giant on the other side was breaking through the entire world.
The sound grew louder and louder.
"Descend!"
Ilis shouted, its spider legs releasing lightning.
Behind it, a silver World Barrier trembled violently.
RUMBLE!
The next moment, it was as if everything had accumulated to a breaking point. The sound, like a flood opening a valve, created a hole in the wall.
A scorching, spiraling, mysterious cylinder appeared in the hole, its shape an irregular wave, with endless electric sparks surging out.
The boundless heat dyed the area near the World Barrier with high temperatures, making it look somewhat red. The scorching heat baked the surrounding region.
Golden sparks splashed into the forest, instantly igniting a patch of trees.
Within the sea of fire.
"The world channel has opened, the otherworld is descending, my mission is complete!" The terrifying heat made Ilis incredibly fervent as it shouted, "This world is about to be destroyed! Gods, await your final judgment!"
Then Ilis turned and ran, a strand of spider silk shooting out towards the distance as it flew away.
