The elevator had been running for ten minutes.
The display kept indicating that they were going up, but standing inside the car, they felt as if they were moving forward instead. That alone would have been strange enough, but the building had only nine floors, and they were already above the thirtieth floor.
This was, of course, utterly absurd.
On the other hand, the sudden stop and the fact that some Vicious Ghost wanted to kill them were easier to understand.
