Black Market Observations

There were quite a few people in the Black Market.

Besides the fat proprietor's bar, there were many other ways in. People from all walks of life treated the sewers like a prime feng shui location, setting up stalls all along the way.

There were plenty of sellers.

Even more buyers.

Most of them wore ordinary clothes and looked no different from common townsfolk.

They wandered around, stopping now and then.

From time to time, they would squat in front of a stall and haggle with the vendor.

But whenever they wanted to pick something up for a closer look, the proprietor would usually stop them. The rule here was that if you were not buying, you did not touch. Fiddling with things at will was asking for trouble.

"Huh?"

"Most of them are actually ordinary people."

Jiang Qiao walked slowly.

His gaze swept over the customers, and he found that only a small number of them carried a Supernatural Aura.

Then he looked at the stalls.

They displayed all sorts of strange and bizarre items.

For example, some stalls sold medicinal herbs wrapped in oil paper. Some of the herbs looked perfectly normal, and some were even fake medicine with no effect at all. Who knew what rotten roadside roots they had used.

But some of the herbs really did retain a Supernatural Aura. They had clearly grown in special environments and picked up a trace of evil nature.

Some stalls were more blatant.

They openly sold all kinds of bones.

There were animal bones and human bones alike. Some had runes carved into them, though they were utterly useless. Others bore teeth marks, and who knew who had left them.

The vendor himself looked like quite the character.

His eyes were closed.

He did not bother greeting customers.
