"Prisoner, Edward Nygma."

"You must remain completely silent. Any conversation, noise, movement, or resistance will be punished swiftly and severely. Now, to prepare for your assignment to the C Prison Block, place your hands in front of you."

Jim Gordon was preparing to put the restraint suit on the Riddler himself.

This was a top-of-the-line prisoner transport vehicle. Besides its reinforced body and bulletproof glass, the doors and windows were strengthened with metal armor to ensure that the prisoner being transported could not escape.

Inside the enormous cabin, more than twenty heavily armed police officers were responsible for security. Every one of them wore body armor and carried a rifle.

Gordon was certain that with this kind of escort, even the Riddler would never be able to escape.

Probably.

"Have you talked to him?"

The Riddler said, "You're transferring me to Arkham in such a hurry?"

"I don't like starting with a warning," Chief Gordon said. "How about we start directly with the threat of rubber bullets?"

He said to the police officer beside him:

"Make him kneel."

The officer beside him raised his gun and aimed it at the Riddler.

Click, click, click, click...

Five or six guns were aimed at the Riddler's forehead almost simultaneously. Red laser dots landed on his head, making the scene even more terrifying.

"Let's play a riddle."

The Riddler said, "How long does it take to escape a cage?"

"Ten seconds? Fifteen seconds? Half a minute, an hour? Or even a lifetime?"

A chill that Gordon found inexplicable crept from the soles of his feet up to his tailbone.

"The answer is—"

"Twenty seconds."

"Shut up, you..."

Jim Gordon realized what the other man was about to do, but it seemed too late now.

"Heh heh, Andrew! Wait, don't listen to Gordon.
