"Bat-Mite, I have a mission for you."
When Bat-Mite heard Batman say that to him, he flopped onto the ground like a wilted vegetable, lying motionless like a dead bat.
"Bat-Mite, Bat-Mite?"
Chen Tao asked, "Did you hear me?"
Bat-Mite rolled over, turned his butt toward Chen Tao, and waved his tiny hand.
The meaning was clear:
Don't fucking talk to me.
His expression was impossible to make out beneath the bat mask.
Chen Tao did not indulge him. He grabbed Bat-Mite off the ground and slapped him twice, one cheek after the other.
No reaction.
"My dear Robin, I really need your help." Chen Tao could only change his tone, using an unbearably coquettish voice to try to charm him.
"It won't work, Batman. You can't fool me again." Bat-Mite said, "I'd rather find a cliff and jump off it, die there, and I still wouldn't believe another word you said or do you another favor."
"Everything is part of my plan, including you losing your powers," Chen Tao said.
Bat-Mite turned away and pretended not to hear him.
Chen Tao's eyelid twitched.
He snapped his fingers. The next moment, Doomsday, looking utterly bewildered and wearing a wedding dress, appeared beside him again.
Bat-Mite sprang up from the ground, broke into a smile, and asked sincerely, "How can I help you?"
Chen Tao kicked away the Doomsday bride, making her vanish through a blue portal.
Then he turned around and faced Bat-Mite again.
"I've gained a preliminary grasp of your powers. If I understand them correctly, then every Five-Dimensional Being's power is unique, isn't it?"
"Why do you want to know that?"
"I need you to confirm it yourself. Answer my question."
