Background

Tang San was once a God King who could briefly reverse time but could not undo Xiao Wu’s death. With her divine consciousness scattered and reincarnation the only path to recover her, he relinquished his cultivation and divine position to be reborn on Douluo Continent. 56

The world he returned to differed sharply from the one he remembered. Spirit Hall had been replaced by Artifact Spirit Hall and Beast Spirit Hall; Ah Yin was alive and living with Tang Hao and Tang San; Yu Xiaogang possessed the Golden Dragon Martial Soul; and the Clear Sky Sect remained the continent’s foremost sect. 56

Tang San found only a faint remnant soul of Xiao Wu. To resurrect her completely, he concluded that he needed to unite the Sea God, Asura God, and Rakshasa God powers into a force beyond a God King, while sacrificing nine Peerless Douluo. He identified Tang Chen, Bo Saixi, Qian Daoliu, Bibi Dong, and Qian Renxue as potential sacrifices. 56

He assigned the Sea God inheritance to Blue Silver Grass and the Asura inheritance to the Clear Sky Hammer, then created a third Martial Soul capable of bearing Rakshasa power. 56 85

Tang San can also act protectively in battle, using Blue Silver Grass to remove Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing from danger and challenging the Thousand Jun Ants after witnessing them prey on weaker soul beasts. 129 219 However, Spider San displays his most ruthless traits: he treats mass death as cultivation fuel and uses an Undead Formation on the bodies left by a punitive expedition. 204
