Mo Hua walked alone through the streets of Immortal City.
People bustled around him, markets lined both sides of the road, carriages flowed like water, and the clamor never ceased. He had only been gone for ten years, yet Immortal City had undergone enormous changes again.
It naturally could not compare to a great state boundary like the Fifth-Rank Ganxue Prefecture, but among Second-Grade State Boundaries, it was already one of the most prosperous.
Many buildings had been rebuilt. Most streets had changed beyond recognition, the houses were newer, and many eaves and walls bore exquisite designs.
Everything looked unfamiliar to Mo Hua. He could only spread out his Divine Consciousness and rely on his memories to vaguely find his way home.
After walking for who knew how long, Mo Hua arrived before a small courtyard and looked up.
In all of prosperous Immortal City, this was the least prosperous courtyard. It could even be called the most plain and simple.
It was exactly as plain and simple as it had been in Mo Hua's memories.
An outer yard had been added outside the house, enclosed by fences. Several Eight Immortals tables with chipped corners stood in the courtyard, with a few wooden stools set before them.
A sign hung at the entrance, the words "Liu Eatery" swaying in the wind.
This was the eatery his mother ran, and it was also Mo Hua's home.
In that instant, it felt as though a warm current flowed through Mo Hua's heart.
He lightened his footsteps and slowly walked into his home.
It was not mealtime, so there were no customers in the courtyard. It was very quiet. Only before the counter stood a familiar and affectionate, yet hazy and strange, female figure tidying things up.
Mo Hua's eyes grew slightly moist.
