According to the traditions of the Great Wilderness, the usual practice was to carve Wilderness "sacred patterns" onto the bones of monster beasts, thereby unleashing the killing power of Four Symbols Arrays.
The array eye of the Wild Heaven Blood Sacrifice Array, which Mr. Tu had overseen, was made in precisely this way.
Blood sacrifice array patterns had been carved onto the skeleton of an enormous ancient monster beast to activate the grand array's effects.
Mo Hua was intimately familiar with this, because he himself had helped Mr. Tu draw that blood sacrifice array eye.
Besides using monster bones as a medium, some tribes also possessed "bone carving" secret arts that drew all sorts of monster patterns upon "human bones."
