"Are you Golden Sea?"
Golden Sea stared coldly at him, her face seeming to bear a layer of frost that had endured for ten thousand years without melting. She had no intention of answering Brando's question and merely said:
"I have something to say to you, human."
"Me?" Brando was stunned for a moment. He had never known this woman before, but he quickly realized that she must represent Echisis's Willpower.
These twelve young she-wolves wouldn't help him for no reason. That left only one possibility: the Mother of Wolves behind them had intervened.
As for why—
The only thing he could think of was that it might have something to do with White Mist.
"What do you want to say?" Once he had figured that out, Brando calmed down and asked in the same emotionless tone.
Golden Sea glanced at Tymiss. The latter stuck out her tongue, then leaped down from the wolf's back and quickly vanished into the pack. Only then did Golden Sea move aside, allowing a black dire wolf to slowly stride out from behind her. Brando recognized it at a glance as a Son of Fenrir, but this one was somewhat unusual. Its eyes held none of the frenzied, destructive madness of the others. Instead, they were a cold, clear silver.
With just one look at the wolf, Brando understood who it was: Echisis, the Mother of Wolves.
Speaking of which, aside from Milos, who had yet to recover from his weakened state, and the Twilight Dragon, whose seal had not been fully undone and who remained confined within a mortal body, this was the first
