Yu Xiaogang first appears at the gate of Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy, where he intervenes when the gatekeeper attempts to drive away Old Jack, Tang San, and Xiao Xiaoxiao. Xiao Xiaoxiao immediately identifies him as “Master, Yu Xiaogang.” 4

At Nuoding, he becomes Tang San and Xiao Xiaoxiao's primary mentor. He personally takes them to the Soul Hunting Forest for their first Soul Rings, bringing beast-repelling powder, medicine, and rations for the journey. 8 After their breakthrough, his instruction advances into Soul Power compression, fine control, and combined Soul Skill applications. 15
